Seriously. I can't stop. I'm normally an asleep by eleven kind of guy. This fucking thing had me up until 2:30 the other night. Just this morning I got my first 1024 piece while playing the game on the toilet. When I stood up, I had no circulation in my feet, and had no idea of how long I'd been there.

I found that game after xkcd did a comic on it a week or two ago. I had no idea what the comic was about at first. Then, I played the game and yet again, had no idea what I was doing. I finally sort of figured it out, but didn't play again. Now I'm tempted to try again.

Been playing this for about a month. Couldn't get 1024 for the life of me, then came across a pretty helpful tip on twitter (won't spoil it, Ryan was on the right track), and have beat it a few times now. Thought that would give me the strength to quit, but alas that was the last tab i closed before coming here this morning.

Don't swipe left (or any singe direction of your choice), unless you're right up against it and have no choice, or are close to winning and connect two 1024's.

My high score is 30k something, but i've seen twitter screen shots of a 4096 tile and an 8192 tile (the latter with an additional 4096 tile as well).
There's also novelty versions of the game springing up, my favourite being Kessel faces:
