Was going to joke that Trump could take this opportunity to assassinate one of his political rivals and hide behind the "rule of three".

Bob Einstein, maybe best known as Super Dave Osborne to many folks around our age.

ETA: He's Albert Brooks' brother as well, which I literally just learned.
Which means that his brother is Albert Einstein! (Obvious at this point, but one of my favourite pieces of trivia.

Dave Einstein had an amazing career. His visits with Gilbert Gottfried on the latter's podcasts are comedy gold. The guy was a profane and amazing storyteller.

He'll always be Larry Middleman to me.

(I think the Le Batard show "killed" him a couple of weeks ago, meaning that someone said he was dead when he wasn't and had to pay a fine

Edit: He refused to come on the show anymore because people died after appearing..I knew it was something)

I wish I had my Super Dave Osborne t-shirt from elementary school. I believe it said "I think I broke my spleen." He had been shot out of a cannon.

Here it is!

The "Captain" of Captain and Tennille.

My favorite paragraph of that story is definitely this:
The duo, who had hits like "Do That To Me One More Time" and "Love Will Keep Us Together," officially split in 2014, but remained good friends. Their other songs included "Muskrat Love," ''Shop Around" and "Do That to Me One More Time."
Emphasis mine. Definitely not a deep bench of bangers if that's happening.

Let he (or she) who has even one sexy, smooth rock “banger” to their name throw the first log on the smouldering fire.

True love is having the name Daryl Dragon and instead rolling with a cheesy nautical persona while your wife gets all the glory.

Peter, Paul and Mary probably killed any hope we had of "The Dragon and Tennille".

Okay, one more nugget from my treasure chest of favourite pieces of trivia...

I knew he had been around a long time, but I sure didn't know Super Dave was so well respected in comedy circles. So many top level comics tweeting about it yesterday.

Not obscure around here, for sure...

Nordstrom co-President Blake Nordstrom, who treated employees like family, is dead at 58

Back when my GF's daughter was dating one of the Nordstrom kids, I met Blake (and his wife Molly) a few times, including one memorable Nordstrom family Christmas party (Steve Ballmer was there, rocking an epically bad Xmas sweater). Super nice guy, really down to earth. And 58 is way too young.

I feel like my knowledge of Carol Channing only comes from Ryan Stiles doing an impression of her on every other episode of Whose Line.

I missed for a second that TB was responding to stuff Carol Channing had done and thought for a second that Dolly Parton had died and was ready to start yelling at TB about her not belonging in this thread or her death being referred to so blithely.

Sorry that I was ready to go off on you for about 15 seconds, TB.

That's her claim to fame. But, as Pruitt said, back in the day she guest starred on variety shows, sitcoms like The Love Boat, and stuff like that a lot. I always found her voice grating.

feeling a bit guilty that I usually cheer for the Bulls....

but strange things you see in the article after Gleason tweeted his condolences
Gleason also noted that the bull Lowe was riding Tuesday will continue in competition during the reminder of the National Western Stock Show.
top 20 in the top league in the world does not pay much
Lowe was ranked 18th in the world. He had been a professional bull rider for seven years and so far, he had earned nearly $10,000 this season

Might be worthy of his own thread, but Albert Finney died. Probably underrated due to not working much in the last 20 years or so, but he was great in everything he was in. Probably the best part of Miller's Crossing, which is saying something given that cast.
