They are coming for us! Welcome to armageddon for my industry. I have worked for both of these clubs in the past two years and the place i work just became the only game in town, literally. We are calling it "May Day" which beat out Black Wednesday.

So much good stuff...but the service dog is my favorite or this story. Also never been to the establishment mentioned but it was a block or 2 from my office.

Good story about the 1984 all star game and a non-deserving player taking the field (plus a Joe Pastabelly reference)

I mentioned it a couple of years ago, there was a time when I helped a UPI stringer cover some Jays games. I would score the games and then go to the locker rooms to get quotes.

Alfredo Griffin had the biggest dick I have ever seen.

I had been remembering this story every time I saw Alfredo Griffin mentioned somewhere, but forgot who it came from.

What's your take on the OOTP locker room, by the way?

The NYT already pulled a tweet promoting this article, so maybe the article itself is short for this world, too.

On the Second Try, Both Found a Partner in Business and for Life
“I was 16 and very shy, John was 11 years older than me,” Ms. Mouzakitis-Fazio said. “I liked him. I didn’t think he liked me back.”

He did, even though he was married at the time. Over the next two years, there were deep glances and flirting. The two would have breakfast or coffee together, they would hold hands, and he would walk her home.

“We would write little notes to each other, he would kiss me on my forehead,” she said. “A slow love was happening without either of us knowing it. I always wanted to be with him, talk to him, but it wasn’t allowed because he wasn’t Greek and he was married, but not happily.”

"No way that's Goldberg!"

Wow, man.

Actually, probably not a bad idea. A lot of kids playing today know his move, even if they never saw him play. They might sell some shoes.

This part is great because if you don't know his story, you'd 100% get his legal name and his aka mixed up: "When he enrolled at Providence, he was informed that he would have to register under his legal name. Since it would have cost $600 to change his legal name to Shammgod Wells, Shammgod stopped using the alias."

I did not know that part. I recall that when he started going by God Shammgod instead of Shammgod Wells it was spun by the sports media as “get a hold of this arrogant and egotistical young athlete.”

Yup. I knew a kid who went to a camp (ABC?) and called him God Shammgod which we thought was just a pretty cool nickname.
