About 5k out from the end, a little terrier came about 5 feet away from getting smoked by the peloton. The breakaway group near the end lost all of its form just before the finish, and the one man left held off the peloton by a second or so. Jan Bakelants from Radio Shack is your new leader, by one ...

Van Garderen is American, and he's got an American teammate. Sagan's team has an American. Garmin Sharp has three.

Marcel Kittel, today's winner holds the Yellow, White and Green jerseys after Stage One.

What a first stage! A team bus was stuck under the finish banner with about 15 minutes left, then a massive crash took out about 20 riders, including many of the favorites for the day. It's a glorious mess of a beginning to the TdF.

Starts in a few. Who do ya got? It's hard to go against Froome, in my opinion. He looked like he could have beaten Wiggo last year on more than one occasion. I like Van Garderen as well, but it is tough to win when you're not team leader (see Froome).

If we're counting teams we were on, I won an adult soccer league a few years back, and in football when I was 12, we had a year where our team didn't get scored on until the super bowl, and won that game 21-7.

Seven

1996 Gators FB
2006 Gators FB
2006 Gators BB
2007 Gators BB
2008 Gators FB
2002 Bucs
2004 Lightning

I've supported ManU since 1999, but I don't count those.
The Rowdies won the NASL last year, but I'd given up my tickets, and I'd feel guilty counting that one too.

Does the choppy "documentary style" camera work of the FNL pilot get better/clearer as the episodes go on? I've got to think it does, or else there wouldn't be as many fans. I nearly puked watching the pilot, and don't plan on making myself nauseous watching a show, no matter how good it is.
