yeah on the live shot i him him shove the official.
I don't know what they were arguing about, that's a nasty hit for 15 yards. Just regroup from the 32 yard line.
Lewis had to get out there and reel his team back in.

I though DeAngelo was coming back next week?
Hopefully Brown doesn't have a concussion, but if it is Ben in his current state, versus Peyton it'll be fun watching a game where the QBs can only throw 10-15 yards. Sort of like my nephews pee-wee games.
That ending was everything wrong with the NFL. A brutal hit that nearly decapitated one of the league's most exciting skill players, followed by a personal foul committed by a guy who should already be in prison for attempted murder. I feel a little bad for Jeremy Hill but at least his jackass teammates will get more of the blame.

Saw this pointed out on reddit--Bucky Brooks at NFL.com had this to say in his preview column a few days ago:
Biggest weaknesses: The Bengals lack a glaring weakness from a personnel standpoint, but their emotional control and discipline could prevent them from moving on in the tournament. The defense, in particular, is loaded with temperamental playmakers (like Vontaze Burfict and Adam Jones) with high-revving emotions. While the unit plays on a string on each level, the occasional lack of discipline and emotional control has resulted in Cincinnati ranking near the top of the NFL in penalties. Given the significant impact of penalties, particularly personal fouls, the Bengals must keep their cool or run the risk of short-circuiting their playoff run via a lack of composure.

While he opened with Steelers/Bengals, I think Francesa is more worked up by the Texans bringing in Wilfork and Watt for a gimmick play on the goal line down 13-0 than he was by anything that happened in Cincinnati.

all 3 will play next week
Lewis has to be fired, right? He totally lost control of his players last night. I also got to ask, who would even want Pac Man. He has made a career out of this kind of stuff.
Wondered the same thing on bens arm strength but you can't risk playing underneath against steelers wrs in that situation. Absent the actual turn of events, the biggest risk was still ben throwing his shoulder out chucking the ball 40 yards downfield. Steelers did a good job hiding the extent of injury such that even Denver has to wonder what they're getting.
Wait...so the Shazier hit that you guys are bitching about was the one on Bernard where he caught the ball, turned around, squared up to head up field, and then Shazier hit him? That? Do you idiots even watch football? That's not a fucking defenseless receiver...not even close. By the way...the refs took a TD off the fucking board on that play! It should have been 22-0! The Bengals caught the biggest break of the game on that play. Holy fuck.

I don't know...the pass where AB almost got decapitated was kind of a rope, no?

That's like sparing, right? That's one of those things that happens 8 times a game that never gets called. Burfict probably did it 8 times alone last night.

It's not legal to hit another player in the helmet with the crown of your helmet. It's just not.
You're not allowed to hit helmet to helmet EVER in the NFL regardless.
Sorry, you don't cease to be an idiot.

Chiefs!!
Well refs lost control and Bengals took their anger out on Ben.
That sack was ten times cleaner a hit than Shazier's.

They could have called sparing. I'm glad that they did not. I wish they didn't blow it dead. These are my final thoughts.

Was Shazier’s hit as egregious and shocking and vicious as Burfict’s later hit on Brown? No, but I guess my answer would be: Who cares? As former film critic Patrick Taggart once said when asked to compare two terrible movies, “distinctions at this level are meaningless.” Both hits were ruthless and dangerous, and both were obvious penalties. The officials called one of them but not the other.
Because the game is impossible to officiate.
Who knows? Maybe, you were kidnapped, tied up, taken away and held for ransom.

The criticisms of the hit were wrong. He's right that spearing happens all the time and is never called. That being said, it is still against the rules.
But there is so much I'm reading criticizing the helmet to helmet nature of it that it's worth countering. Helmet to helmet there is legal. If I argued a baseball rule and I was wrong about it, even if the player in question had still done something against a different rule, I have a feeling you'd respond.

I hope they get rid of Burfict. Not necessarily because he's a dirty player who keeps doing this stuff because he almost never gets flagged or significantly punished for it, but primarily because he's good as hell and is the only linebacker on that team worth a damn.
I miss the 4-12 high character Bengals.

New England opens as 5.5 point favorite. Thinking about jumping on New England now in case public bets it up over 7 and I can come back and try to middle it on 7.
