Tremendous actress. Tremendous singer, in fact. Had to be pretty damned good to pull off Edith wailing And you knew who you were theeeeeeeeeeen! Wasn't it Carroll O'Connor that said about her, and I very much paraphrase, to sing that badly you have to be one helluva a singer? Something like that.

I'm trying to find a clip of her singing Heart from Damn Yankees. The wiki sez it was cut from the film, but I think it was on the movie soundtrack album. My mom had that, I don't see it in my collection.

Fuck. Another memory from my childhood. Aside from All in the Family I remember her from The Muppet Show-- "Play a Simple Melody" and from her stage appearance in "Arsenic and Old Lace"
