The Hornets are dead. Long live the Hornets

Post by brian »

All of Charlotte's issues are fixed.

I don't even know how to adequately make fun of this.
The Hornets led the NBA in attendance for seven consecutive seasons in Charlotte, but the Bobcats have not been as successful in the market, which spurred the movement to return to the name.
When you think of historic, legendary nicknames for sports teams, it's pretty much Yankees, Packers and then Hornets.

Is Bob Johnson still part owner? Weren't they sort of named after him?

Let's hope they do not revert to that terrible 1980s teal.

Was that a throwback to 70's blaxploitation movies? Yo, you see that team over there? Them's Bob's Cats, man.

I'm all for it. I used to like the Hornets, and their teal.

A bar I went to in Winter Park yesterday had a MASSIVE Ohio Bobcats banner hanging over the brewing area.
Did you see that ludicrous display last night?
