Great game. Congrats to the Packers.
The bottom line is it was a great season for the Cowboys and it was a lot of fun watching them this year. I think we have a good base to work on, and look forward to next year. I just hope Witten comes back.

Which "Hot Taker" will be the first to say that Romo would have won that game. Because you know it's coming.
My money is on Bayless.

Re: 2017 NFC playoffs
Nah. Bayless stuck with his Aaron Rodgers bashing shtick and is saying Rodgers was "lucky."DaveInSeattle wrote:Which "Hot Taker" will be the first to say that Romo would have won that game. Because you know it's coming.

Re: 2017 NFC playoffs
Here's a good video of Michael Irvin interviewing Jerry Jones. This interview took place at Jerry's office at the new Cowboy's practice facility. "The Star."
I personally can't stand Jones, but I do give him his dues as a business man.
Anyway, here ya go.

You'd need somebody to take on Osweiler and his contract.A_B wrote:I've heard/read that the money is almost impossible to work out on that.Giff wrote:Romo to Texans, please.
I think the best landing spot for Romo is what everybody is talking about, but it'd take the Broncos an effort to lift their heads from their asses to appreciate the opportunity. Maybe they're just posturing to drive down the inevitable asking price...
AZ would be a good spot too, but I think I read that old man Carson intends to play next season.

Not true - the Texans are stuck with Osweiler's cap hit this year ($19 mil). You don't really trade contracts in the NFL.
The hard part with any Romo trade is not fitting Romo's salary in his next team's cap, it's squeezing $24 mil into Dallas' cap in 2017.

Re: 2017 NFC playoffs
Of course Romo would be an upgrade at QB for the Broncos. But if they don't improve their O-line, it wouldn't matter.

Re: 2017 NFC playoffs
Aaron Rodgers is the best quarterback I've ever seen, but I think the Falcons are going to roll today. I don't think Green Bay's defense has a prayer of stopping Atlanta's offense, and I think Atlanta's pass rush will make enough plays to get some stops. In my opinion, Green Bay's only chance is to use a hyper aggressive game plan (i.e., going for it on 4th down, trick plays, onside kicks), but that's not how McCarthy typically coaches.
Re: 2017 NFC playoffs
Hell, that's not how anybody coaches and it blows my mind. 2-11 teams just punting on 4th and short and shit.

Re: 2017 NFC playoffs
The really hard part with any Romo trade is that he's a 36 year old, oft-injured, very brittle QB who hasn't played in 2 years and tends to have meltdowns in the playoffs. Sure, he might last through a season and do well for a team that's a "QB away" from the Super Bowl, but I wouldn't count on it.Gunpowder wrote:

One more TD from Atlanta and I can't see how GB comes back. Apparently Sanu SENIOR is the 2nd coming of Jerry Rice.

When did Tony Romo "meltdown" in the playoffs? When he dropped that extra point snap?

Re: 2017 NFC playoffs
Meltdown may be laying it on too thick, but fairly or not, Romo has had a reputation among some for allegedly coming up small in big games. McButterpants wrote an article about it a couple years ago.Gunpowder wrote:When did Tony Romo "meltdown" in the playoffs?
