Joe Cocker
Yep.
For you kids - Joe Cocker was quite a big deal in the early 1970s, featured in his concert movie/album Mad Dogs and Englishmen. Known for some great covers, including the Beatles' With a Little Help from my Friends, and this cover of The Boxtops' The Letter. (John Belushi did a great imitation of his spasmodic singing style, too.)

Re: Joe Cocker
His version of The Letter has been a favourite of mine since I was a wee lad.

Ha! Did you see this on Twitter?
A couple of weekends ago I was a couple of beers deep and saw an obit float by and was a couple of tracks into Mad Dogs and Englishmen before my wife suggested he was long gone.

I felt aswirl with warm secretions.

Goddammit! Some guy posted his obit on Facebook, and I didn't realize he was already cold in his grave.mister d wrote:Wow, worst news I've read in like 31 months.

I don't know why, but dude inexplicably posts a two-year-old obit as fresh news is one of my favorite things about social media.

Not feeling too good myself.rass wrote:You Feelin' All Right Pruitt?
I realized that I probably posted the same thing when Cocker actually died 3 years ago. And I'm in the middle of writing an outline for a completely absurd comedy/action show for kids, so I've been joking around like an 11 year old all day. Hence the repetition.
