As a young man, nobody was treated worse than Connie Hawkins by the corrupt, racist "amateur" athletic system and then the NBA. Later his career was crippled by a serious knee injury.
But in between, he lit it up against the best. Elgin Baylor, Dr. J, Larry Bird, Karl Malone -- Hawkins was better.
