Too bad they couldn't palindrome that.
I guess Trump showed today he's the Rex Exer.
And his one problem is he didn’t go to Russia that night because he had extracurricular activities, and they froze to death.

We just had to assist a very high-profile member of the Trump administration in figuring out how to make their NCAA bracket picks on our system on a contest being run by a big political website. I can't get into specifics here, but they were having trouble logging in. Not sure if it was because they're an idiot (probable?) or if there was really an issue.

Makes sense for Trump. He gets all his information from tv. So, now, he can pretend like he's being interviewed every time they meet.

I kind of like the Kudlow pick, it’s kickass that someone can go from being forced to resign their position at Bear Stearns due to a $100,000 a month coke habit to holding a cabinet position. America truly is the land of opportunity.

In fundraising speech, Trump says he made up trade claim in meeting with Justin Trudeau
ClaimsHe also seemed to threaten to pull U.S. troops stationed in South Korea if he didn’t get what he wanted on trade with Seoul, an ally. He said that the country had gotten rich but that U.S. politicians never negotiated better deals. “We have a very big trade deficit with them, and we protect them,” Trump said. “We lose money on trade, and we lose money on the military. We have right now 32,000 soldiers on the border between North and South Korea. Let’s see what happens.”
South Korea was taking advantage of outdated trade rules even though its economy was strong and said China had single-handedly rebuilt itself on the back of its trade surplus with the United States.
“It’s the bowling ball test. They take a bowling ball from 20 feet up in the air and drop it on the hood of the car,” Trump said of Japan. “If the hood dents, the car doesn’t qualify. It’s horrible,” he said. It was unclear what he was talking about.

Trump wins that battle now because whatever CNN legit-ly hammers on now is viewed as Fake News.
For me tv and radio is a battleground already lost to the right. The next one is internet and podcasting. This is the one the left can still educate people with. Sites like Vox and 538 are key.

By and large, I just don't think Obama's base would eat it up like that.

Barking #FakeNews is one thing. However, pointing out the disparity in how the news gets represented, particularly if he used his hallmark cadence & delivery?

Obama did call out FoxNews. This is from a September 2010 article:
But obviously the people who watch and like FoxNews weren’t going to change their view of Obama (or Fox) regardless of what he said.Mr. Obama was asked by Rolling Stone whether Fox News is “a good institution for America and for democracy.” He began his answer with a look back at history noting that “we’ve got a tradition in this country of a press that oftentimes is opinionated,” invoking William Randolph Hearst’s use of his newspapers to promote his viewpoints.
“I think Fox is part of that tradition — it is part of the tradition that has a very clear, undeniable point of view. It’s a point of view that I disagree with,” Mr. Obama said. “It’s a point of view that I think is ultimately destructive for the long-term growth of a country that has a vibrant middle class and is competitive in the world.”

Shit looks like it's getting really close to hitting some sort of rotational apparatus. I sold off my stocks for the time being, because the stock market is just a bunch of skittish meth-heads with millions of dollars in assets.

Re: The Indictment Thread (Trump Admin Meltdown Thread Part II)
True. If there's one thing that the Fox News crowd showed that they could respect, it was calm, reasoned argument that everything they believed was a lie from the uppity puss tyrant Obama.

Re: The Indictment Thread (Trump Admin Meltdown Thread Part II)
Has the right "won," in terms of setting up a media apparatus to spew propaganda that has millions of mouthbreathers living in an alternative universe where facts are ignored and often reviled so they can prop up their racist, misogynistic, intellectually hollow world view? Yes, they have "won."
But to act like this is somehow the majority opinion in this country is another great example of false equivalency and bullshit.
The Insane Clown Posse has a loyal, sizable following. The vast majority of Americans either have no idea what the fuck they are about, laugh at them, or actively hate them.
Fox News = ICP.

That’s a harsh comparison for ICP! Their music sucks but they have way better politics than FauxNews.
Re: The Indictment Thread (Trump Admin Meltdown Thread Part II)
I'm probably in the minority, but I'm at the point where I think anyone who parrots Fox News talking points needs to be shunned from decent society like you would someone espousing white nationalist views. Continuing to coddle and support these people by not ruthlessly mocking them at every opoortunity from business meetings to family gatherings just emboldens their stupidity.

Don't disagree, but where that really needs to apply is at the top. There should be no safety net post-Fox News / Trump admin for anyone.

Didn't the Obama White House at one point announce that they would treat Fox News as an advocacy group instead of a news organization when it came to access? If I recall correctly the MSM all rallied behind Fox. Because, you know, Both Sides.Joe K wrote: ↑Thu Mar 15, 2018 10:39 amObama did call out FoxNews. Re: The Indictment Thread (Trump Admin Meltdown Thread Part II)
Here’s the article that Roberts was leading up to with that tweetstorm that was posted here last week.
Some notable excerpts:
Some notable excerpts:
These writers are, to a (wo)man, alienated from the animating force in US conservatism, which is Trumpism. They command no divisions. They have nothing to do with what is going on in American politics today.
They might serve the purpose of challenging liberal thinking, but they do not serve the purpose of exposing NYT readers to the people and the movement from which they are allegedly alienated.
If Bennet wants to do that, he needs to be clear-eyed about what the right is today.
So what motivates this swell of right-wing support for Trump? At this point, though many people on all sides still refuse to acknowledge it, the evidence is overwhelming: It was cultural backlash, against immigrants, minorities, uppity women, liberals, and all the other forces seen as dislodging traditional white men from their centrality in American culture.
What’s happening in the US today is not a contest of governing philosophies. Trump doesn’t have one, and his administration barely tries to pretend it does. It’s not a philosophy or a plan that won — it was a team, a tribe. They are living it up, rewarding their friends and ratfucking everything the other team did before them.
More broadly, what’s going on in American politics is a contest between those who believe America is an idea and those who believe America is a people, a particular culture — white, Christian, and patriarchal. Trump represents those who want that culture restored to primacy.
How can the NYT opinion page expose its readers to that?
Here is the scary truth that NYT editors and readers alike resist: US politics today is not a contest of ideas or governing philosophies. We are witnessing a massive revanchist upheaval — against bourgeois morality and standards of conduct, against changing demographics and economies, against assumptions about governance and respect for norms, against the status quo — by a culture that is stagnating even as the country changes around it, which it experiences as a loss of dignity and prestige.
When the Times opinion page pretends that conservatism is David Brooks or Bret Stephens when it maintains the comforting illusion that American politics is a contest of ideas, it is not exposing its readers to uncomfortable truths — it is sheltering them.
