Yup. Damn.
And his one problem is he didn’t go to Russia that night because he had extracurricular activities, and they froze to death.
Re: Worthy of mention, too obscure for own thread
Well that puts a damper on Opening Day.

When I was a little kid, he was a legend in Canada - the Expos first star. "Le Grand Orange!"

I had this card from the tail end of his career and I thought he was like 65:

Yeah, because he was with the Expos for fewer seasons than the Mets, Tigers AND Astros each.

Who played for 8 years in New York and settled there after his career was over and did most of his philanthropy in New York and opened restaurants in New York and worked on Mets broadcasts for a decade. He's identified with the Mets. Get over it.

Maybe it's related to one's age. Like Pruitt, I am old, and despite his long service in other cities, I've always thought of Rusty Staub as an Expo.brian wrote: ↑Thu Mar 29, 2018 10:03 amWho played for 8 years in New York and settled there after his career was over and did most of his philanthropy in New York and opened restaurants in New York and worked on Mets broadcasts for a decade. I've always thought Met, probably because I remember being in the car listening to him bat during the 1973 World Series.sancarlos wrote: ↑Thu Mar 29, 2018 10:17 amMaybe it's related to one's age. Mitzi Shore. Besides being Pauly's mom she is one of the key folks (and sometimes antagonist) of the story of stand up comedy. Will be interesting to read tributes to her and who attends her funeral.

Re: Worthy of mention, too obscure for own thread
The Comedy Store has bounced back in a major way in recent years after Adam Eget (the "other guy" in Norm McDonald's podcast) took over the operations. Mitzi had been mostly out of the picture for a along time, but Eget's changes to operations made a massive difference.

I'm not an EDM guy, but I really like a lot of what I've heard from Avicii. I didn't realize he had previous health problems, so this was a big surprise. They play his videos at my gym a lot. Not only do I like the music, but some of the videos are really cool.

OK so I've heard this music, though I didn't know who did it. What does EDM stand for? I just think of this as FIFA menu screen music.
Re: Worthy of mention, too obscure for own thread
Electronic dance music. That's all I know about it. I also don't know why every song is song by a different, uncredited singer.
