Based on overall performance during the course of this season and postseason thus far it would be silly to dismiss Houston’s chances, particularly since they have homecourt advantage. But there’s still a really big talent gap between the teams, as there has been between Golden State and everyone for the last two years. And regular season performance doesn’t fully reflect that. In the 2015 and 2016 Playoffs, the Warriors had 4 different series where they lost 2+ games (including the Finals loss to Cleveland). That hasn’t happened once since they signed Durant. The most likely outcome here is probably Warriors in 6 but a shorter series wouldn’t shock me at all.

It wouldn't shock me at all either. I think the X factor will be Capela. I think Tucker will be able to get under Green's skin too.Joe K wrote: ↑Wed May 09, 2018 8:01 amBased on overall performance during the course of this season and postseason thus far it would be silly to dismiss Houston’s chances, particularly since they have homecourt advantage. Just so you know, I've not heard anybody in the Bay Area saying they think this series will be a walk in the park.

Vegas has the Warriors at -185, which is a pretty big favorite for a team that doesn’t even have homecourt advantage. But it sounds about right to me.
Re: NBA Playoffs 2018
FYI, I'll be out there late June/early July. Will hopefully be two championships heavier than last time!

Have the sixerrs really benched Simmons for McConnell?
ETA: I guess not hey just didn’t call timeout during a long run of play to get him back in. They were executing without him so no hurry

Bring on LeBron. Not really. Final four though. So bright.
Re: NBA Playoffs 2018
Tatum. Fultz. Ha! Actually, somehow, Al is the man.
Re: NBA Playoffs 2018
LeBron is going to drop about 50 in Game 1, playing on extended rest. Boston fans were pretty vicious towards him back in the Garnett/Pierce days (I was at some of those playoff games in Boston and “LeBron is a Bitch” was a common shirt), and now the Celtics are up there with Toronto for teams he enjoys torturing.

Re: NBA Playoffs 2018
Uniquely suited to play right into the Warriors hands?
Re: NBA Playoffs 2018
A lot of people hate on the Rockets’ ISO-heavy style but it’s actually not a bad strategy against the Warriors assuming you have the personnel to do it. The Cavs’ 3-1 comeback in 2016 was fueled by a heavy dose of James and Irving ISOs and Harden and CP3 could theoretically have similar success. The bigger issue will be that the addition of Durant makes GSW impossible to defend. Even if you can defend their off-ball action, which is much easier said than done, they can just give the ball to a 6’11” matchup nightmare who is one of the best 1-on-1 scorers ever.

Re: NBA Playoffs 2018
I get your point. But Paul George is a better fit. Lebron dominates ball. Needs shooters around him. Simmons is surplus with lebron. There may be a way to play both but you’d need Brad Stevens to figure out how.

On the other hand lebron won two tiles with a driving non shooting second man.

Re: NBA Playoffs 2018
Obviously Houston would be his strongest option but I also think Philly would destroy with LeBron. Their biggest issue v. the C’s was late game execution and that would get a lot better if LBJ replaces Simmons as the primary late game playmaker.

Eh. Not sure I agree. Simmons is lebron withoifhr a jump shot. He doesn’t develop with lebron taking so many touches. I’d be hesitant to bring Lebron in with Simmons. But move Simmons and...

Re: NBA Playoffs 2018
this rockets warriors series is the most hyped I have ever been for a Rockets playoff run in my adult life. I truly believe houston is the better team. Espn has spent all season ignoring Houston, making mocking videos of Hardens defense, sucking the warriors cocks every chance they get, all of the analysts are ignoring the stats, ignoring that houston won the season series, ignoring the mvp of the league, and all of them discussing who will come out of the east to play the warriors in the finals. Yes im a bit bitter about the whole thing, especially them treating the most talented rockers team in history as a stepping stone to the warriors inevitable coronation. The amazing thing is that if Houston manages to beat Golden State there are no excuses to be made. The rockets could literally make a mockery of all of espns nba coverage this year, even more so if they went on to beat Cleveland in the finals. The network spent an HOUR analyzing how the cavs and warriors matchup againsf each other , and if the rockets beat the "most talented team in the nba by far" and then dethroned King James I cannot wait to watch the coverage, which will inevitably be a litany of how the warriors "let it slip away" and "beat themselves", because "when the warriors play their best game, there is not a team in the league good enough to keep pace with that kind of offense", nevermind the fact that the rockets average about 4 more three pointers a game then Golden state, and there is only a 1 point differential in ppg between the two. the rockets finished 7 fucking games ahead of the warriors, and have homecourt advantage, etc. etc. Im not saying the warriors arent really really fucking good, because they arw, im just sick of reading/hearing about how there is this huge chasm between the warriors and the rest of the league. Im sure most of you think im crazy and exaggerating, but thats just because outside of Houston the national media never fucking talks about Houston. Ive seen probably 100 different espn features on golden state this year. Ive seen three pieces on the rockets, one of which was a clinical breakdown on how Harden doesnt put in any effort on the defensive end and how they feel the voters should weigh this in his campaign for mvp.

a small sample of the douchebaggery of espns mike greenberg and also a list of everyone save three people ive never heard of picking the warriors. the NBA's best record, the presumptive mvp, and everytime i turn on the tv some fuckwit is saying they would be shocked if we got two wins.

Re: NBA Playoffs 2018
its not just espn btw...read through this pathetically thinly veiled blowjob of an article on yahoo sports attempting to analyze the matchups position by position....spoiler alert, in the matchup of harden vs klay, they give the edge to harden "by a hair", but only because he is the focus of houstons offensive, but the article reassures us that klay has enough tricks in his repetoire to handle harden. The level of disrespect for this team and harden in particular is fucking insane. If you read this shit you would think it was the 92 dream team vs alpaca city community colleges basketball camp for disabled midgets.

Re: NBA Playoffs 2018
I respect TT’s passion, but let’s not act like it’s outrageous for the media to treat a team that won 73 games, swapped Harrison Barnes for KEVIN DURANT, and has since gone 24-3 in the postseason, as big favorites.
Houston is a really, really good team, but so was Cleveland last year, and they still only managed one game (after already being down 3-0).
I’m rooting for Houston and having homecourt may give them a shot, but until someone—anyone—can even win 2 games against the Durant Warriors in a playoff series I have no issue with them being treated as big favorites.

they didn't win 73 games THIS year...didn't do it with Durant. it is outrageous to treat the number one seed in the whole league as an afterthought that shouldn't bother putting on jerseysJoe K wrote: ↑Mon May 14, 2018 10:41 am I respect TT’s passion, but let’s not act like it’s outrageous for the media to treat a team that won 73 games, swapped Harrison Barnes for KEVIN DURANT, and has since gone 24-3 in the postseason, as big favorites.
