Re: The Mass Shootings Thread
Something else about it is that these 2nd Amendment snowflakes couldn't give any less of a shit about deaths in Chicago. Forget trying to point out that since 2010, firearms protection in Chicago have been repeatedly weakened by the USSC and the 7th Circuit, and firearms incidents rose accordingly.
My avatar corresponds on my place in the Swamp posting list with the all-time Home Run list. Number 45 is Paul Konerko with 439.
Re: The Mass Shootings Thread
And aren't most guns used in crimes in Chicago bought in neighboring Indiana?

It's complete anarchy in the city with like the 20th highest murder rate in the US.Rush2112 wrote: ↑Mon Aug 05, 2019 11:20 pm Do they have a mass shootings idiot response starter kit? Don't know how many mentions of Chicago I've seen in the past few days. It's the 2nd amendment assholes first line of defence.
Just as senseless killing, but their not mass shootings and often drug or gang-related rather than white Christian snowflake related. But, but Chicago.

St. Louis is consistently the murderiest city in the US and you never hear about it because it's a red state and it's always the Fox News types pushing this shit.

On a local level you do hear similar bullshit blaming the crime rate on Democratic city politicians. But yeah, Missouri’s gun control laws are an absolute joke and everyone knows they need to be strengthened. But that hasn’t happened because it’s a red state.

Nope, Amazon's "Inside Jokes" which was all about various stand-ups journey to Montreal's comedy festival. Highly recommend that show if you're into stand-up.

Perfect show for my mood tonight, thanks, hadn't heard of this. Just watched the first episode, and while I love the idea of the show, and it's well made, I can't stand 3 of the 4 comedians from the LA group. The black woman was funny and really sexy, but all 3 guys where fucking annoying as fuck. The gay guy MK is just not funny, and his roommate Simon is just trying to be so annoying and repeating an annoying thing 50 times until he gets an uncomfortable nervous laugh. And he was even more annoying off stage. The Bible Thumper with the wife and kids wrote some good jokes, but his delivery is terrible. Watching the 3 awkward guys trying to talk to the judges was painfully uncomfortable. The Christian dude just rambling at how self conscious he is, begging for a compliment or a clue as to whether he is accepted, and the judge saying, "you need to project more confidence." Awesome. Really hoping the NYC comedians are more likable.Nonlinear FC wrote: ↑Tue Aug 13, 2019 9:46 am Nope, Amazon's "Inside Jokes" which was all about various stand-ups journey to Montreal's comedy festival. Early 20s is the typical onset age for mental illnesses like schizophrenia and other psychotic disorders, which primarily effect men. It's also the age where the protective bubble of childhood is removed, and men who are failing at life take it out on others. The real question, is why is it almost exclusively white men?Johnnie wrote: ↑Mon Aug 19, 2019 7:01 am There could have been three more mass shootings if these men weren't stopped, authorities say

It's the same age as most of the people recruited by other terrorist organizations like al-Queda and ISIS, so the white supremacists are simply figuring out how to use the same playbook. The Sybian wrote: ↑Mon Aug 19, 2019 8:59 amEarly 20s is the typical onset age for mental illnesses like schizophrenia and other psychotic disorders, which primarily effect men. Re: The Mass Shootings Thread
I don't have a lot of sympathy for those three dudes (particularly the last one), but I have to think for every actual mass shooting, there are 100 or 500 of guys like these who brag about how they're gonna do it but never actually would. It smacks a bit of thoughtcrime.
Totally Kafkaesque
Re: The Mass Shootings Thread
What’s particularly disturbing to me is that mass shootings are becoming an ingrained part of American culture such that they’re becoming an increasingly “normal” action for disturbed or disaffected men. Gun control is an obvious and necessary step but at the same time, I don’t think the prevalence of mass shootings in the US can solely be explained by access to guns. Even in other countries where gun access is prevalent (e.g., Serbia), mass shootings like we have here are virtually nonexistent. I also don’t think it can really be explained by the rise of white supremacist politics as a number of recent mass shooters have had very different politics or motivations. So I don’t know if it’s merely copycat effect or something more sinister, but there is something very diseased about American society.

One going on in Midland/Odessa right now.
