Did you see that ludicrous display last night?

I spent all morning in court. My Ex took me back to court (again) convinced I have a whole bunch more money then I do.
She ended up getting about $70 more in child support a month...and costing herself about $4K a year in college expenses for my older daughter.

3 more years. Younger daughter is a sophomore.
The best was her claiming that because of her MS, she should be getting more money from me/required to pay less for the older daughter's education. But when my attorney said 'ok...let us see all your medical records, so we can see if your ability to work is affected', she said 'My illness has no impact on my ability to work'. Huh?

Paying for college expenses isn't a thing in Florida family law. Dealing with morons who think they deserve extra, even though they can still work certainly is though.

Just to show how mad she is about the court ruling, and how nuts she is, here's what I got to deal with yesterday afternoon.govmentchedda wrote: ↑Fri Sep 13, 2019 9:12 pm Paying for college expenses isn't a thing in Florida family law. My daughter needed to get something from her Mom's house for a cheer event. As I was parked in the driveway, my Ex came out and started to yell at me. I rolled down the window, to hear her going off, telling me to not park in her driveway, to park in the street, and to 'get off her property'. I just stared at her, and then said 'what are you going to do...call the police?'. And she said 'Yes...I will. So get off my fucking property'.
I said 'jeez...what's your problem?', and then just shook my head, and pulled out of the driveway and parked in the street.
And yes, my daughter heard/saw all of this.

Re: Random Thoughts About Thoughts Random
Since my daughter is now a cheerleader, we went to a high school football game last night.
And it was absolutely brutal. Her team, (Shorewood T-Birds) got absolutely pounded. The scored was 35-0...at the end of the 1st quarter. The T-Bird's first string QB blew out his knee while throwing a pass that was intercepted and returned for a TD. The 2nd string QB had a hip injury a few plays later. The 3rd string QB, who looked like a freshman who had probably taken about 5 snaps in practice all week, came in and fumbled the snap on his very first play.
We left when it was 49-0 with 3 minutes left...in the 1st half.

Re: Random Thoughts About Thoughts Random
Got a nice insulated water/coffee bottle from a conference last week. The kicker? The lid is a bluetooth speaker. I can't think of a great many uses for that. Maybe a bike ride? Or the beach (at a reasonable volume respectful to others near me, of course.). maybe on a walk, but I don't generally like carrying things and it doesn't have a loop or anything to attach to belt.
Most absurd use suggested within reason (For example, I'm not going to take it to the top of everest) will be done and reported back on.

It's obviously not 1st degree murder, cuz you know, he was a large black man in an apartment that could be confused with hers, but this is a woman who shot first, and then called her boyfriend to get answers after as her victim lay dying.mister d wrote: ↑Tue Oct 01, 2019 10:55 amWould have lost a lot of money betting on a hung jury here.EnochRoot wrote: ↑Fri Sep 14, 2018 1:40 pmThat's a good question. There's a shit ton of sad-sack stories in prison. She should be one of them.

She obviously should have been found guilty, she obviously deserves jail time, but seems like this is a situation where it was more like manslaughter than murder. I'd imagine these are the kinds of cases that are hardest for the good judges, where it takes a difficult kind of wisdom to decide how long to sentence someone to prison for a stupid, avoidable mistake.

I had some of those thoughts until I considered the underlying bias involved here, by a cop, and whether she would have reacted the same if it had been a 14 year old white boy.
Re: Random Thoughts About Thoughts Random
Swamp Legal help me out here. This would seem to possibly work as a felony murder if it's tied to burglary, but the apparent fact that her entry into a dwelling was accidental (she drunkenly thought it was hers) as opposed to intentional precludes it, right?
ETA: Oh. Never mind. I didn't see she was convicted.

So....has anyone heard of the 'VSCO Girls' fad/trend? (see here for an explainer: VSCO girls and how teen culture goes viral).
Anyways...the GF's daughter works for Hydroflask, doing marketing/social media stuff, and they are completely baffled by the whole thing. I guess that Hydroflask is part of the look, and all of a sudden Hydroflask's mentions are exploding, and they couldn't figure out why for a long time. They really don't know how to handle it, and even if they should. She called us the other night to talk to my 15 yo daughter to try and get an explanation of the whole thing.

It's effectively a "Basic Bitch" adjacent meme with very, very specific brands.
