Yeah unreal. It's really hard to fathom that at some place and time a group of people sat around a table and had some sort of agreed on thought process where they thought this would be a good idea and approved it?

I too am frustrated at the inability of these people to know the difference between a monkey and a chimpanzee.
(and yeah, the obvious racist part is frustrating too)

Zlatan bring Zlatan. Apparently he was asked at his press conference if now that he signed in Series A if be was ready to play against the best players in the world. His response was to ask if Messi had signed for a Series A team.

Charlton are such a, "where are they now" club for me. When I got back into soccer they were in the prem, in London, and had Darren Bent and Alan Pardew. I suppose teams like QPR and Palace took their mantle, in my mind, at least. (Fulham are an outlier for me). Looking forward to reading more about this.

Charlton haven't been the same since Alan Curbishley left, Bournemouth will go the same way

Goodness. That's strong. Whatever they do to identify and create opportunities for young guys should be replicated in all sports everywhere.

And he has stepped down.
76 days, 3-3-4, 6 points above the relegation zone.“As the head coach, I need the trust of the acting persons,” Klinsmann said. “Especially in a relegation battle, unity, team spirit, and focus on the basics are the most important elements. If they are not guaranteed, I cannot live up to my potential as a head coach and fulfill my responsibility.”

Now that we've heard from Giff, has anyone checked on Mr. D?

Lots of baseball folks who don't follow soccer laughing at MLB right now...wait until they find out what the offense was. It'll make their heads spin.

This is where I'm supposed to say that every team violates FFP and you're all haters and count the (domestic) rings, right? I assume they'll appeal it out.govmentchedda wrote: ↑Fri Feb 14, 2020 1:57 pm Now that we've heard from Giff, has anyone checked on Mr. D?

Re: All threads are temporary. This one's about soccer.
How leaked emails and invoices led to Manchester City's ban from Europe
Not just crooked, but arrogant as all hell. Which considering UEFA's usual toothlessness is understandable. One of the emails, from City’s then chief financial officer, Jorge Chumillas, headed “Cashflow”, stated that Mansour’s own company vehicle, the Abu Dhabi United Group (ADUG), would be paying £57m as a “contribution to 13/14 sponsorship fee”, while only £8m was Etihad’s “direct contribution”.
About time this happened. Want to bet that PSG fans won;t be sleeping well tonight? These public responses after the charges were laid were consistent with the second element exposed by the emails: how hostile and confrontational City had been to Uefa, and to FFP itself, throughout the process of compliance – at times distastefully so.

Maybe they'll be like MLB and happy making one team the scapegoat for widespread cheating despite obvious evidence of others cheating as well? [insert shrug emoji]
