I resemble that remark. (I know because I checked my answers after the fact.)
And bfj, not because it’s you. I would have said that to anybody.

I'll cue up Boxer after I fight my way through Rage Against the Machine.
I think I'm just too old (or spent too much time raising kids) to listen to screaming. But I'm starting to warm to a couple of the non-screaming songs.

I think I'm generally okay with loud if there's a clear prominent melody or singing. For a couple songs by the Alarm, I still turn my car stereo up to 11.

Woman I loved was named Ramona. Loved the alarm. Said she cried when they broke up.

Well then, how about another music question - Songs that have to be played as loud as possible?

Re: Yet Another Dumb Way to Pass Time (Music Related Again)
I've had a lot of import albums at different times in my life. I guess I'll go with one I still listen to somewhat frequently. Almost went with Rage Against The Machine, but instead, I'm going with:
(In The Aeroplane Over The Sea by Neutral Milk Hotel)
(Fun fact, I was introduced to this album by Bapo!)

I want to give everyone who might want in a chance because once we hit phase two, no one else can join as it would defeat the (partially fleshed out) purpose. Maybe through the weekend?

Re: Yet Another Dumb Way to Pass Time (Music Related Again)
Me too! Bapo! set me up with about 20 albums that I absolutely love. I stopped seeking out music 20 years ago, and occasionally gave a shot to bands recommended here, but Bapo! left me a huge library on Dropbox, and it's probably 50% of the music I listen to. This is one of the best of the bunch.
Thinking back to when music really had an impact on me, I remember being blown away the first time I heard The Red Hot Chili Peppers Blood Sugar Sex Magic. Must have been sophomore year of HS. A girl on my bus handed me her walkman and told me I had to listen to it. I had to go to the mall to buy it ASAP. I remember my mom driving back and asking me to pop it in her tape deck to hear it. Fortunately, she ignored the lyrics. My mom was funny, she used to borrow grunge CDs to play while she cleaned the house. Nirvana, STP, Pearl Jam...

I wish Bapo! would drop back in, perhaps once hockey starts back up.
and I was a freaky styley / mother's milk guy. Saw the Peppers open for the Violent Femmes my junior year in HS and well it was great.

1. I assume everyone has spotify and if not its free with ads.
2. As I've mentioned before, the vast openness of spotify has left me crippled in determining what to listen to.
3. This is a way to give me / us new music.
4. I assume this will go on forever or fall apart without a winner.

Re: Yet Another Dumb Way to Pass Time (Music Related Again)
So we're like voting for them head to head or something?
Re: Yet Another Dumb Way to Pass Time (Music Related Again)
Initial thought: 7 song spotify mixtape from the year your album came out, head to head, winner by vote moves on. Not sure if re-mixing after round 1 matchups is done makes this prohibitive or avoids it getting stale. Leaning re-mix, since we're all going to be indoors forever.

I'm thoroughly confused.
My avatar corresponds on my place in the Swamp posting list with the all-time Home Run list. Number 45 is Paul Konerko with 439.
Re: Yet Another Dumb Way to Pass Time (Music Related Again)
Each person makes their own. So mine would include one song from my album and six others from 2007.
Re: Yet Another Dumb Way to Pass Time (Music Related Again)
I don't know anything about Spotify. Can someone just do mine?
1. Over The Hills and Far Away - Led Zeppelin
2. Simple Man - Lyynrd Skynyrd
3. Dream On - Aerosmith
4. Time - Pink Floyd
5. Goodbye Yellow Brick Road - Elton John
6. Higher Ground - Stevie Wonder
7. Come and Get Your Love - Redbone

"Ironically", I nearly made a comment about this working until you bail like you did on the album draft and you go ahead and get in first. Egg on my face.
