I'm going to guess that the buyout on that extension is incredibly small

I think a more fun question is does this happen if tOSU was in Indiana’s position with a second tier (or whatever tier RU currently is) school looking to jump them.Brontoburglar wrote: ↑Sat Jan 02, 2021 9:29 ambingo. especially if that rule put a team that the undefeated team beat in the conference title game over it.tennbengal wrote: ↑Sat Jan 02, 2021 12:52 am Um, you all are being weird about this. yeah, the whole point of the season was to get a team in the playoff
I realize that the Big Ten title game is/was more appealing with Ohio State, but getting a team into the playoff is the ultimate goal

Is the school in your hypo looking to jump them gonna get a spot in the playoff and all the money that comes with it? Then...yes.rass wrote: ↑Sun Jan 03, 2021 10:51 amI think a more fun question is does this happen if tOSU was in Indiana’s position with a second tier (or whatever tier RU currently is) school looking to jump them.Brontoburglar wrote: ↑Sat Jan 02, 2021 9:29 ambingo. especially if that rule put a team that the undefeated team beat in the conference title game over it.tennbengal wrote: ↑Sat Jan 02, 2021 12:52 am Um, you all are being weird about this. Re: NCAA Football 2020/21 post-season
Sure, a 7-0 B10 champ makes it this year no matter the school, but the way everything worked out (meaning Florida not beating Bama in the SEC championship) so does the 6-1 B10 champ tOSU from my scenario. Not sure you can say the same about Indiana or NW in that position, which is part of the reason the rules were changed to let tOSU in.
So I agree it’s tough to say that tOSU being tOSU didn’t play into the arbitrary decision the B10 made, which is really all anyone else was saying on the previous page.

WR is one of the few positions where Jax already has some good talent.

Can someone help me figure out what fictional/ cartoon character it is that Ryan day looks like? I just can’t figure it out but I know it’s something slightly odd.

Do they not coach how to stop slants in college? I swear 90% of completions are slants.

Just depends on whether the D is set up to trap, or to guard against outside routes/fades. I mean, it's more than that, but as a MI fan that constantly saw its team gashed by slants, you learn to see what they are taking away by allowing those slants.

Re: NCAA Football 2020/21 post-season
It has been so much fun following this Bama team. So many truly likeable players. The big three (Smitty, Mac, and Najee) are all super humble and great teammates. I’m glad they were able to back up their awards by showing out in the title game, and in a big way.
Devonta is such a talent. His combination of top end speed and quickness, combined with length and hands, is as good as I’ve ever seen. He runs great routes and plays fearless. In interviews he comes across as a simple country kid, but he is razor sharp.
Mac has improved so much as well. Hell, as freaky good as Burrows was last season, Mac basically equaled him in numbers. He worked so hard in the offseason to improve his pocket sense, and it showed. Last year pressure right in his face would lead to regular errors, this year he kept eyes up and found check downs. I’m not sure he will be a great pro, but he has the tools to do it for a long time.
I adore Najee. Not sure if you’ve seen the vid, but he lists Meghan Rapinoe as one of his favorite athletes and people he looks up to. He’s going to do great in the NFL, as he has the skill set to even play TE.

A Sark coached offense is always going to get open guys on the slants. They do so much action on the edges, the defense has to respect the outside edge. Combine that with the best program in the country at producing top WR’s and the D is in trouble.Nonlinear FC wrote: ↑Mon Jan 11, 2021 11:39 pm Just depends on whether the D is set up to trap, or to guard against outside routes/fades. Also, they are really gonna miss Sark next year. He called a nearly flawless game last night.
I guess since Young is coming in at QB the O will look a lot different, so not a bad time to deal with a new OC. But still, the O loses a ton of talent. Defense will be the opposite, and they will look much improved next year.

Of course, BO’B is the lates coach to apply for and receive the annual Nick Saban career recovery therapy course, so we will see how that goes. At least he won’t be allowed to trade away the best players.

NCAA Spring Football..FCS Style
Actually NCAA probably should considering having FCS have a different traditional season. I know it would impact the few early season games but I think I would watch way more JMU, Maine, Jackson St games when it has no competition.
I recognize this would not be possible for the FCS kids who are NFL ready (Joe Falco)...but would give them a stage they don't have.
Also we get Prime Time at Jackson State.

Love that Sanders is not letting the school off the hook on the theft during the game.
That type of thing happens ALL of the time in college sports. College kids with keys to the locker rooms. When we played you took your wallet, watch, etc and put it in a bag that got a pad lock brought by our team and then placed inside the box that our Athletic trainer brought onto the field. Usually does not happen for a home game though.

Guessing a lot of these games are on ESPN+. I might start re-arranging my Saturdays around watching some FCS.
