If you thought Canada's 11-0 win yesterday was a massacre, Japan beat Mongolia 14-0, pumping in three in added time just for shits and giggles.
To be fair ...
... the Mongolians have had it coming for a couple of centuries now.

Germany is down 0-1 at the half to North Macedonia.
Imagine if they were playing all of Macedonia.
It is the whole of Macedonia.
Not according to the Greeks.
It's kind of funny. Imagine is the State of Georgia didn't allow the Country of Georgia to be named Georgia.
not to the Greeks it isn't.
It does seem kind of silly to me that Greece basically stopped another country from calling itself Macedonia, just because Greece uses that name for three of its divisions. If Greece wants exclusivity to the name, Greece should put its money where its mouth is and name itself Macedonia.
And his one problem is he didn’t go to Russia that night because he had extracurricular activities, and they froze to death.

The Greeks will tell you there is no such thing as North Macedonia. Macedonia is Greek and that part of the country has major significance in their history (and no, not just because of Alexander) as it played a part in their liberation from the turks. i realize its all fun and games to some, but as i said.. not to the Greeks (my wife is 100% Greek)

Of course. But the people who’ve lived in the People’s Republic of Macedonia or the Socialist Republic of Macedonia or the Republic of Macedonia seem to disagree with the Greeks.
But even this silly little debate shows why that whole area is such a fucking mess. In all honesty, I’m surprised and pleased that North Macedonia and Greece managed to come to the compromise they did.

I can't get the right search string for this so asking the Swamp: In a penalty shoot-out, if a shot hits the post, is redirected back towards the field, but then hits the keeper and goes in the goal, does it count?
I think so. I've seen clips of similar as well as ones where the ball hits the crossbar and goes straight up. The goalie celebrates and walks off before the ball falls and spins back into the goal (which then counted). Pretty funny, actually.

Yes. Ball is live until it stops moving or the shooter touches it.

Just realized the Gold Cup Final this year is going to be in Las Vegas (Allegiant Stadium). Gonna be one of the first times I'm bummed I have to miss out on something cool because I moved. (Still no interest in going to VGK games at extortionate prices while having to wear a mask and risk getting COVID.)

I don't understand the why of it. Neither does the keeper.
Either she was getting revenge for an earlier hit, or blanked out for a moment and forgot she wasn't playing ice hockey. Looked like a standard defender lining up a check at the blue line.
