ETA: back then if you rented a car at dtw, they’d always give you an American-made model. Nowadays, it’s just as likely to be of an Asian company.

From what I read, they didn't follow the policy. I'm sure there is a protocol. The only issue I had was putting tape over his mouth. As a passenger on the plane, I'd be thrilled with the move, but it just felt wrong watching it.

And I asked my cousin, who's a pilot, and the instructions are "take appropriate actions." Not exactly clear there.

Dude groped 2 flight attendants and started swinging. Like, the fuck are you supposed to do in the air when shit like this is going down? Put the child in time out?

Its also kinda a micro version of how we put people into locked little rooms in locked larger buildings when they do something wrong in our normal America, except here it actually was 100% necessary to protect the remaining members of the little plane society. Anyone complaining that he was treated unfairly or was unduly punished is really just selling out that they're the type who would excuse someone of his pedigree did if it were in a bar or in a dorm room too.

I just got off the phone with my wife, who flew to St. Louis today for a family reunion. (She didn't want to go but felt obligated, so she double-masked in both the airports and on her flights.) She said that a young woman who looked to be about college-age was on her flight and acting pretty irresponsibly. Didn't wear a mask in the boarding area until a gate agent admonished her, and then on the flight, (she was in the same row as my wife, but on the other side of the aisle), she pulled her mask down most of the time. My wife said she was hoping to see her get reprimanded by the flight attendant, but the woman noticeably turned her head to the window when she saw a flight attendant coming down the aisle.
