They're 2.5 hours from London. Should be fine.

Just looking up which Canadians are in the open. Hadwin, Conners, Hughes are pretty decent PGA pros.

Then there's Richard T. Lee who I've never heard of. Winner of $450,000 in 14 years as a pro, who qualified by finishing fifth at the 2020 Singapore open.

Crazy.

Bryson is a piece of work.

Bryson said after the round that his driver sucks. Here is a main dude at Cobra responding (Also the guy who filled in for him on the bag when the caddy split in Detroit).

“Everybody is bending over backwards. We’ve got multiple guys in R&D who are CAD’ing (computer-aided design) this and CAD-ing that, trying to get this and that into the pipeline faster. (Bryson) knows it,” Schomin said. “It’s just really, really painful when he says something that stupid.”

DeChambeau is currently using a Cobra Radspeed driver that is 46 inches long and has 5 degrees of loft. You won’t find a club like that in your local pro shop. They are all made specifically for DeChambeau.

“He has never really been happy, ever. Like, it’s very rare where he’s happy,” Schomin said. “Now he’s in a place where he’s swinging a 5-degree driver with 200 mph of ball speed. Everybody is looking for a magic bullet. Well, the magic bullet becomes harder and harder to find the faster you swing and the lower your loft gets.”

Fucking 5 degrees of loft leaves no room for error.

I have serious doubts I could be good friends with anyone siding with Bryson over Koepka. Not that Koepka is necessarily good/right, but he seems clearly less bad/wrong.

There’s so much other bullshit too. Bryson sucks. He’s one of the only players who still insists on wearing metal spikes, which fuck up the greens for everyone else. The not yelling fore thing is real, however much he doth protest. He’s absolutely slower than fuck.

And it sucks because I should love the guy. He’s not a country club kid. He’s analytical as fuck. I 100% agree with his strategy of its better to take risks and bomb the fuck out of the ball. But he’s a douche.

The commentators on the online 3-hole broadcast are loving this Marcel Siem guy. Apparently he offered to pay for one of the commentators friend's surgery at some point because Siem had known someone who needed the same surgery.

I love that he's turning this into a thing, where the next time Bryson complains about something he'll know Koepka will talk about loving it.

bryson does not look like a PED user. he looks like a dude who works out a lot and drinks a lot of protein shakes. when he was packing on the weight he was not putting on all lean muscle. that's a pretty good visual cue that there's not much help going on there

Yeah, I don't have the knowledge that bronto possesses, but I've always been a little dubious about him doing something as drastic as 'roids. No real reason, other than it's not inconceivable that a dork like that would use the COVID downtime to tinker with his body like that.

Yeah (I thought it was US Open for some reason but it was the British).

Interestingly, he's one of only 8 people in history to finish runner-up in all four majors. (There's a good Swampcrash question...)

and what does that have to do with PEDs exactly?

this is a discussion that can exist with some sort of proof or evidence or ... something. but it's hard to have when it's based on "eh I think so" and nothing more.

Yeah, that was confusing. Nicklaus had less competition so it’s not apples to apples but 18 majors and 19 major runners-up is insane.
