Its impossibly weird to me that some people really do think like this.
Before America West Airlines was bought/merged/whatever with American, they used to have a couple daily direct flights from Columbus to Vegas. If you happened to be in the airport, you knew one of those flights had arrived because literally 60+% of the passengers were wearing some sort of red Ohio State gear, as if in place of a tag saying, "If found, please return to Columbus, Ohio".
Just a cult.

We have a friend in town who grew up in Columbus. Kids are frequently decked out in OSU attire and they make a trip out every year and post tons of pics at various OSU sports games.
An honest to God cult of personality - formed around a failed steak salesman.

Very entertaining review.
I almost puked looking at that pasta dish.
That was a fun read.

I remember seeing (but not entering) "Ditka's" in Chicago.
And I know Don Shula had a steak joint or two in Florida.
And there was a "Gretzky's" here in Toronto. Sort of a mid-level roadhouse joint.

We have Shanahans and a number of Elway's here. Both are overpriced steakhouses. Almost went into the Elway's at DIA for breakfast but we found a Snooze with no line.

As someone who lived in Columbus and took these exact flights several times…can confirm.

Man, who did Schefty piss off?
Me, when he met me and thought my name was "Jeff" after confirming the restaurant he was going to was good.
But, seriously, I am not surprised that someone who peddles in access journalism to the degree he does is doing stuff like this to keep the faucet open.

Wait, you name isn't Jeff? Oh, you spell it Geoff. Got it.

I totally understand sending a draft to a source asking for edits is a massive breach of ethics in journalism. Is sending an advance of the final copy also a breach, as if to give the subject a heads-up?
My avatar corresponds on my place in the Swamp posting list with the all-time Home Run list. Tied with Mel Ott at Number 25 is Miguel Cabrera at 511.

I would say yes in case that source knows someone higher on the food chain, which seems likely, that can catch and kill.
One milkshake to bring all the boys to the yard and in the darkness bind them.

Yeah, it really depends. It's certainly much, much, much less of a breach. Like AB said, the timing also depends. If you're sending it 15 minutes before publication probably not as much as a day or two before, etc.

Without reading that thread first, can I say that Schefter isn't a journalist and treating him as one is kinda silly?
