Happy Pearl Harbor Day!
Couldn't decide what thread to share this in, so figured I'd make an inappropriate joke (too soon?) and a new thread all in one and share that in honor of Pearl Harbor Day I've decided to blow up my life and my marriage and will be moving back to Las Vegas (alone) at either the beginning of February or beginning of March (hopefully the former given that things are little frosty around here).
Positive vibes accepted, but don't feel too sorry for me. It was mostly my decision and what I need for my career, my life and my mental health. Not what I need for the wallet or the prospects to actually ever retire any time soon, but there are consequences to every decision.
So...that's happening.

Was it over when the Germans bombed Pearl Harbor!?
Seriously though, sorry to hear about this... But I do like that you're doing what you need to stay healthy.

After Feb. 1, sure. At least I'll be back in Vegas for the NFL Draft, which will be cool if the Lions end up with the first pick.

Re: Happy Pearl Harbor Day!
I'll probably get into it eventually. It's not easy, but it feels right. It wasn't exactly a rash decision for sure. It's not just one thing, it's a lot of things even down to my mother's health issues (being in the US even 2000 miles away is a lot easier than another country).
I'll miss Mexico. That's for sure. I want to come back one day. It's way more chill here than the US.

Good luck Brian - all my best thoughts your way.

The Lions win and you rush back to the USA. I was impressed and a little envious of your move to Mexico. Best of luck for whatever happens next.

A fitting end to the 'Liz and Dick' chapter of your life?
Sorry to read this, Brian. All the best to you in the future, at least until Vegas and Edmonton meet in the playoffs.

As someone that went through shit with an ex-wife I feel for you Brian. Best of luck getting back to Vegas and best of luck in your new endeavours, but at least we'll have more people in the know for the Johnnie Vegas Blowout Extravaganza.
Did you see that ludicrous display last night?
Re: Happy Pearl Harbor Day!
I'm sorry to read that, Brian. Good vibes and well wishes to you, man.

I'm sure you didn't come to this decision lightly, so I wish you all the luck in the world and hope this eases your mental health weight.
How do you all get your death notices since I left?

Hey man, I know this wasn't an easy decision you had to make. Just know that this is probably best for your mental health, and you have plenty of friends here who dealt something similar. You got my number if you ever want to talk.

My avatar corresponds on my place in the Swamp posting list with the all-time Home Run list. Number 45 is Paul Konerko with 439.

Damn brian, really sorry to hear this. Even if it feels like the right decision, it's still not something I'd want anyone to have to go through. Looks like we'll be in Vegas the last weekend of April (is that draft weekend!), so glad I'll get to see you.

Really sorry things haven't gone great, Brian, but on the other hand, I can't think of a single person I know who wasn't happy that they went through with a divorce. If you think it's the right move, it almost certainly is.

I was around that time as well. I was married in October 2004 and came to the swamp sometime during Derrick Lowe's barely above .500 2004 season.

Re: Happy Pearl Harbor Day!
It would have seriously fucked her over, but I'm almost regretting not just telling her right before I leave to go back to Vegas in January because these are not fun times around La Casa Seymour these days, you guys.
I mean I wasn't expecting a parade or anything, but...well, anyway don't feel sorry for me. Though my salary just went down to 25 percent cash and 75 percent equity starting Jan. 1, so the nice, expensive apartment I rented in downtown Las Vegas feels like a bit of an extravagance right now.
