interested in what the line does over two weeks if it's Bengals-49ers. seems it'll stay Rams -3 and maybe even move up if it's Rams-Bengals, but I can see it shifting to Cincy if it opens -1 or -2 to SF (like it appears it could if they win)

That dropped INT will be the difference.

Thinking the same thing. My kid could have picked that.
Really want the 9ers to win this though. They had me with all of the sad Cowboy and Packer fan shots the last two weeks. It was precious.
Also, Deebo

Oooof. What a fucking awful series for the 9ers there.

I mean, I get that Garrafalo is not a particularly good QB, but how the hell they didn't get the ball in Deebo's hands these past two horrid attempts at drives is just baffling.

So street tacos vs Skyline chili.
Also, it's the second time in as many years that we have a home field Super Bowl. That's kinda cool.

Congrats to TB! Unbelievable half by the Bengals.
And a very fitting end to Garoppolo's time in San Francisco.

Congrats Rams Fanny (and me)!
Though this will be the least I'll be bothered if my team loses in a while. Anyone else coming out of the NFC and I'd be rooting hard for the bengals.

A good thing for the Bengals is that the Rams really don’t have a home-field advantage.

Yeah, that was a sight to behold. SF is almost 400 miles from LA and yet there were definitely more Niners fans than Rams fans.sancarlos wrote: Sun Jan 30, 2022 10:56 pm A good thing for the Bengals is that the Rams really don’t have a home-field advantage.

Having lived in LA during the sweet spot of no teams there, it makes absolute sense that the Rams have minimal fan base. Two decades with no home team + millions of transplants bringing their allegiances with them.EnochRoot wrote: Sun Jan 30, 2022 11:35 pmYeah, that was a sight to behold. The Super Bowl will probably have no home-field advantage in LA, as it will be the greatest "going to be seen" event in history.

Re: NFL Playoffs 2022 (following 2021 Season) and what not
I've only had a real rooting interest in a couple of these games and it's ended up being a pretty amazing playoffs so far. I'll stick with that. The Bengals are an amazing story of course, and Stafford getting a ring would be fantastic. I just hope it's 52-49 or something crazy like that.

Both QBs seem likeable, right? Not sure the last super bowl where I felt positive apathy rather than wanting one or both teams to lose.
Re: NFL Playoffs 2022 (following 2021 Season) and what not
Agree completely. I’m rooting for the Rams because Stafford and Rams Fanny and I are friends but I wouldn’t be upset to see the Bengals get a title.

Re: NFL Playoffs 2022 (following 2021 Season) and what not
I'm pulling for Burrow, but I wouldn't be at all disappointed if LA won. It would be a huge payoff for a ballsy All-In play, and if we're just talking Angelino Rams fans, they haven't had their team win it all since 1951.
My avatar corresponds on my place in the Swamp posting list with the all-time Home Run list. Tied with Mel Ott at Number 25 is Miguel Cabrera at 511.
Re: NFL Playoffs 2022 (following 2021 Season) and what not
I would have loved for Stafford to have won one for Detroit, but winning one in LA with the Rams would be cool. Having said that, I just love Burrow's ability to take a hit, get to his feet, dust himself off and go again... I imagine he'll be spending a lot of time dusting himself off in a couple of weeks time with Donald and co chasing him.L-Jam3 wrote: Mon Jan 31, 2022 11:35 am I'm pulling for Burrow, but I wouldn't be at all disappointed if LA won. The Bengals defense has been pretty good recently and they have the safeties to be able to double up and support a corner to totally remove one weapon from the board. If they go that way, it will be interesting to see what the Rams can do without Kupp (for example)...
Re: NFL Playoffs 2022 (following 2021 Season) and what not
I may have posted this a long time ago, but I was in the SFO airport at 5:30 am waiting for the first-thing-in-the-morning flight to Detroit. I was working on my laptop so I deliberately sat far from the crowd. After awhile I realized I was near Matt Stafford (because a couple people came over for autographs). The flight got delayed a bit and I had a brief chat with him about it. He was very nice to me (even cracked a little joke) and also gracious to the fans that approached him. So, I root for him.

Stafford has made a fan of me for a long time, and he cemented it with his essay last year that sticking to sports isn't enough anymore for white athletes. Just a thoughtful piece of allyship. I can't speak to the political climate of Lions fans (that's Brian's job), but I can only assume that it's similar to most other Northern cities. A ballsy thing to put out there that undoubtedly got some blowback.

Re: NFL Playoffs 2022 (following 2021 Season) and what not
Eliminating Brady and SF in consecutive weeks has been a dream scenario. Not sure I'll be able to work up much enmity for the Bengals since I think I've used it all up the last two weeks. Congrats to the Bengals fans here. I of course think the Rams will win but I think the 3ish point spread is correct. I've always hated this two week break and will avoid coverage as best I can until next wed or so.

The Rams organization owes Todd Bowles a debt of gratitude for allowing them to fall forward into the NFC CG.Rams Fanny wrote: Mon Jan 31, 2022 1:06 pm Eliminating Brady and SF in consecutive weeks has been a dream scenario. You have to wonder if Tartt hadn't dropped that surefire INT last night in the 4th if the Rams wouldn't have melted away again.

Aye, congrats. I gotta say Stafford proved to be worth the cost (a 3rd, and two 1sts + Goff).

I've already booked travel to LA for the game. Not necessarily planning on going to the game itself but just to hit some of the ancillary events and watch at a Bengals bar or something.
That being said if anyone gets a line to some tickets for $2000 or less I would appreciate a heads up.

They beat Mahomes the same way the Steelers used to beat Alex Smith, which is wild.

Good luck. With the Rose Bowl, ticket prices dropped a lot between the time the teams were determined and when the game happened. Hopefully that happens for you.GoodKarma wrote: Mon Jan 31, 2022 4:38 pm I've already booked travel to LA for the game. I'll be surprised if ticket prices have a significant drop given the Bengals' SB drought and a hometown team in a large metropolis with a lot of disposable income
