Combo. Drains threes from inside.

Yeah, the weirdly straight Utah/Colorado nature of the NE part of that country ticked something off in my brain. Coupled with the coastline features, set me up for a 2 guesser.

I like this game, but it's ruined by all the territorial islands off Antarctica that I've never heard of. They should limit it to countries.
I wonder if they changed the back-end, because they had a 3 or 4 day run of just bullshit islands in the middle of nowhere, and then it started with kind of easy stuff like Puerto Rico and stuff like that. I guess I'm OK with getting skunked, because some of those little weird islands are fun to look up on Wiki. Like the one that is a weird English protectorate type deal in the Channel that I'd never heard of...

Anyone play Weddle? My son showed me this a couple days ago. You guess an NFL player (skill positions only), and it tells you if you have the right conference, division, position and tells you if the mystery player is taller or shorter, younger or older, and if their number is higher or lower.
That's funny. (no way that's real is it?)
Oh, it's real. And it's fantastic: https://www.weddlegame.com/

There is a soccer version, too. Uses players in the top 5 European leagues: https://footdle.com/

I have become the childless guy in his 30s who is reading up on school board candidates on a Saturday morning in an attempt to prevent the fringey folks from winning on Tuesday

one of the guys running wants to move away from "race-based education" and would rather the district focus on aristotle, socrates and plato

Around here the problem is half these guys use school board seats as political stepping stones. The other half wish they were superintendents. Vote for whomever is willing to do the boring board stuff (approve budgets, pass policies, hire superintendents) and leave everything else alone.

This is actually a fairly widespread practice, putting a lot more importance into local politics.

That's neat. I remember early in my marriage we were joining some friends at a house party and there were some grammys on a shelf. I assumed it was just some kind of decoration but it turned out one the people hosting the party was the daughter of some producer who won some grammys in the 80 or some shit. Obviously I didn't know them well enough to remember who or what they were for. It was similar in that it was more of a fringe category, but hey, one down going for the EGOT!

Walked to gas station a couple hours ago and a bird basically fell out of the sky and died about 5 ft behind the lady walking in front of me. A pigeon. Flapped some and hit the pavement. Must have come from the overhead power lines. The homeless ish lady stopped like wtf and kept going. Freaky. No clue what happened.

Losing the parking ticket for an airport parking lot is one of the costliest mistakes/most needlessly expensive things ever. $1 -> $13 as if everyone spends the entire day hanging out in the short term lot.

I'm never making that mistake again.

Sure. That makes sense.

But even the highest 'daily' rate is $10, unless you decided to stupidly use the hourly lot for the entire day.

It's designed for the inevitable lost ticket fuck up like I had. I don't know why I didn't just leave the thing in my center console or glove box.

I had the same thought. I have a childhood memory of going into CVS with my parents the day after Easter and my Dad making a comment about a benefit of being Jewish is we can wait a day to buy Easter candy 75% off.

i had grand plans of going to buy hundreds of cadbury eggs this morning and instead I am laid up with an absolutely nasty stomach bug. haven't felt this bad in years

all four of the males at our family easter dinner got sick too from the toddler to my dad. I got it last and might have gotten it the worst.

What happened?

Speaking of Wordle, my daughter showed me a game that will immediately make you realize it's almost impossible not to win Wordle. It's called Anti-Wordle. You try not to get the word correct, but you have to follow the hard rules. You can't use a letter you know isn't in the answer, you have to use letters in the correct space, and you can't use a correct letter in the wrong space you already attempted. It's hard not to get the answer in 6 or fewer guesses.

I usually get words in the 3-5 attempt range (4 being most often). However, the times I've failed is, for example when I uncover _ O U N D, and you've got 4 guesses to choose from about a half dozen options.
