No, a simple look at their website does not suggest that this is the company that should be inspecting the structural integrity of the building.

The alarm didn't go off and this was a known issue. But I guess we can complicate this if we want to.

You literally said
Why would a security guard firm be responsible for licensed civil engineering type work?
They’re more than a security guard firm. Are you daft?

Ok, they work other aspects of security, which does not include building integrity.

I guess you've conquered another semantics battle though the real issue here was "is Securitas responsible for the building's structural integrity", and the answer to that is likely a resounding "no of course not".

We already know you're a superhero-caliber moron so no need to ruin another thread with it.

Securitas' Six Pillars of Protective Services" (from their website):

On-site guarding
Mobile guarding
Remote guarding
Electronic security
Fire and safety
Corporate risk management (Our customized scope of solutions include risk advisory, security management, protective services, corporate investigations, due diligence, response services, and protective intelligence.)

They're one of the two biggest security guard companies, no more. Their guards get embossed blazers in office buildings and black windbreakers at sporting events. S.A.F.E. wear red windbreakers.

Their own clothes, as their job takes a little bit more prep than an hour-long meeting the Tuesday night prior to the Super Bowl when they are working the game.

I truly believe (and I’m as guilty of it as the next guy) that an occasional beef in here keeps any real bad blood from flowing. Not that that is much of an excuse for some of my more idiotic beefs over the years.

It’s like fat Clemenza says in The Godfather. These things have to happen now and then. It gets all the bad blood out of the air.

I could literally do a whole essay why Clemenza is my favor character in The Godfather.

When we were on vacation we stayed at a place with with the water closet up above the toilet. I kept looking behind the water closet for a gun.

One of mine too. A big part of it is that his name is (sort of) the Italian equivalent of my own.

Perhaps if Disney complains about building standards something will get done around here.

The fact that other than Miami-Dade and Broward, there are literally NO inspection laws for these types of buildings is fucking infuriating. And even in Miami, the law is "every 40 years." Forty fucking years. For buildings that were built in some of the most corrosive environments on the planet (extreme heat and salt water adjacent.)

But the legislators don't want to do anything to bump up the costs for the retirees that fuel so much of the state's growth and overall economy. I'd be freaking the fuck out if I lived in a building built in the 80s or 90s and hasn't had a meaningful inspection in over 35 years.
