Déjà Vu was the first record album I ever acquired. At the time, my mother was a very ambivalent member or the Columbia House record club, and I persuaded her to let me make the choice for the obligatory record purchase!
Still love the album.

IIRC it was part of my first Columbia House purchase of 12 CDs for one penny!

I was a big Zeppelin fan in my formative years, but that's one album I really never listened to. I think maybe I played it once, thought it wasn't great, and never returned to it. But I played it again earlier this year on Spotify (I like to do run-throughs of band's full career), and it's actually pretty good. Still not as good as their other work, but when that's a band's worst album and that band made more than a few albums, it's pretty damn impressive. Say what you want about Jimmy Page stealing from other artists, but the man had good taste.
Totally Kafkaesque
Re: Old Timey Music for Howard and DC
Speaking of Zeppelin...
A double album without a single weak song. Many different styles and tempos yet could only have been made by one band at their peak... one of the all time greatest:

Great song. (Btw, as you may know, the “Stu” in the title and keyboard player on the tune is original Rollong Stones member and longtime associate, Ian Stewart.)

Rush, I thought of you when I discussed music with the husband of the couple who hosted us in Scotland. He listens to a lot of traditional Scottish music, and when I asked him what else he liked, he said , “old prog rock, the Canterbury scene, bands like Yes, Caravan, and Camel…”

Lou Reed put out a ton of bad, self-indulgent music.
But when he was on, he was one of the greats.

Re: Old Timey Music for Howard and DC
REALLY old time music here...
Dan Auerbach and his crew have done an absolutely incredible job of cleaning up some of the great Son House's recordings.
Sounds like it was recorded last month instead of 60 years ago. As intense as one man and a guitar can be...

Just so incredibly good.
Re: Old Timey Music for Howard and DC
The Clash had lots of good music. It’s too bad Joe Strummer wasn’t a better singer.
