I'm sure I mentioned at the time, the coach of FGCU went to Hopkins and is the NCAA's all-time free throw percentage record holder. (Andy Enfield)

I got to watch him in person for 3 years and those were some fun times. He's still hanging in there at USC.

But, yeah, that was a wild ride with FGCU

Curious: did the UNC AD (Bubba Cunningham) make the decision to decline the NIT invitation, or was that squarely on Hubert Davis? That’s a bad look, regardless.

Yeah, the fans probably don't really want to play, but extra practices don't hurt. UK has been in the same situation. Motivating the players is very hard, though, for that tournament. I suppose for the NBA level guys there could be some of the bowl game sitting equivalent and not wanting to get hurt.

I’m catching up on some of the blogs now. I didn’t realize that UNC was 360th out of 363 D1 teams in bench minutes. Good grief. So basically, Davis’ coaching led the team to decline the invitation (players voted on it). Woof.

Has the rule changed where teams cannot practice through the day of the national championship?

I think the players, by electing not to play in the NIT were basically giving a vote of ‘no confidence’ in Davis. A couple players have already entered the portal, and the UNC blogosphere expects more to follow.

The time to call timeout was once the inbounder got the ball back and the trap descended upon him. Ouch.

You should get a second bracket if your first one loses a final game team before it’s dark on Tuesday.

As to D’s lament, a few years back I had Michigan State winning it all, and they were the losers in the very first game on Thursday.

Colgate reminds me of every basketball game I played at the JCC. One athletic guy who is kinda balding, 1 big man who is not athletic at all, a few other guys who have a skill or 2 but can't finish, and 1 or 2 guys who clearly were not jewish.

YouTube TV has it figured out. They've got a RedZone type of deal going where they have a grid of all 4 games and you can drill down to expand a game, but back up during timeouts to the grid.

I know it's not rocket science, but this is how you want to watch the tournament as a neutral.
