And gutsy move by Arteta to go down two early after the last two matches. Love the strategy.

Dayum. I thought about posting here at 1-0, but that first one from me was at 2-0. Now four?

Bold take - Chelsea get perilously close to relegation.

No way are of the bottom dwellers getting close to 39 points.govmentchedda wrote: ↑Sun Apr 23, 2023 8:21 am Bold take - Chelsea get perilously close to relegation.
I think 35 points and you will be safe
Re: EPL 2022/2023
I had feeling they were going to be thrashed, but that was beyond my wildest dreams.
Maybe having the team run by a guy with one year as a manager in Serie C wasn't such a good idea.

As soon as I saw the score of the Spurs game, I thought the same thing.

Re: EPL 2022/2023
Recorded the game - if I'd have seen it live, it would have ruined the day.
I had no hope for this game. This is a gutless, overrated and very poorly managed team. Kane is among the best players in the world. No one else on this team has even played at a mediocre level for a month or two.
And what is particularly galling about getting butchered by Newcastle - and something that speaks volumes about how badly run this team is - is that since they dumped England Right Back Trippier to Atletico for 22 million Euros, they have cycled through Aurier, Doherty, Royal (although to be fair, he looks decent) and the latest scrub is this atrocity of a defender named Pedro Porro.
Same story on the other wing - they have no idea what they are doing in terms of transfers. And Cristian Romero? As overrated as they come.
No drinking until 5 though.

TOON TOON ARMY ARMY!
Sorry, Pru. What a fucking match. Woke up the wife with the first goal. She came down, made coffee and got her breakfast and got to sit down to watch goal #5. One of the most dominant performances I’ve ever seen by any side. Howay the lads!

Spurs players reimbursing fans who traveled to match. Nice move.

Depends, IMO. I kind of look at it in reverse, what should Poch feel about getting Chelsea? Nagelsman pulling out of the running is a big red flag for me. There's a ton of roster management that needs to occur over the summer for that team.

I swear, every time I watch Leeds playing, I see Luke Ayling getting torched for a goal.

even if it'll only be for just one goddamn evening I'm just gonna stare at this table for a bit and look at Aston Villa holding onto a 5th place spot in late April.

It is astounding - yet one of the few silver linings in this Spurs season - that Tottenham is somehow 14 points ahead of Chelsea.

What is Brentford's total player wages compared to Chelsea's? Unbelievable - Thomas Frank is my dream hire for Spurs.

Re: EPL 2022/2023
This was my take going in. I gave Arsenal a 5% chance of eking out a draw. I think the squad is exhausted, they have little depth and Arteta never rests the starters. And City are just too damned good. Even if Arsenal played City in peak form, City is just flat out a better team. Only positive I can take out is I lost hope after Southampton, so this didn't nearly nearly as much as it otherwise would have.DaveInSeattle wrote: ↑Wed Apr 26, 2023 11:51 pm KDB and Haaland are scary good. Nice luxury for City to be able to sub on Mahrez and Foden in the dying embers of the game. I had legit forgot completely that Phil Foden was even on the team! The Sybian wrote: ↑Thu Apr 27, 2023 9:32 amThis was my take going in. I gave Arsenal a 5% chance of eking out a draw. Come on. They haven't played anything other than EPL games in over a month. Then two Europa games and then nothing but EPL until you get back to the FA Cup three months ago. Man City still just badass much to my chagrin. The Sybian wrote: ↑Thu Apr 27, 2023 9:32 amThis was my take going in. I gave Arsenal a 5% chance of eking out a draw.
