Favorite random things about LLWS: Plastic lawn chairs with the back legs shaved off so you can sit properly on the steep slope in the outfield.

As a former CF, that double play was veeeerrrry close second to throwing someone out at 3rd for me. I loved when guys tried to stretch a routine single into a free base at third and not knowing I was coming up with their back to me. Felt like more of a f-u than throwing someone out at home where they can see it.

My official hat came in today. I look like I could be coaching them. Wearing it for good luck. My lucky orange shirt wasn't so helpful against the Hawaiians.

The Hawaiians are on a different level all together. Just dominating the US bracket. Seems they are destined to meet Taiwan on Sunday.

They hit more home runs yesterday than hits they've given up in the entire tournament.

They're definitely that much better than the competition so far. And, as Mr. D said, that state is known to forge a birth certificate.

First time I'm seeing the Hawaiians... These guys don't mess around at the plate. Very impressive.

And from what I saw of the Curacao game (most of it), I don't think they have the pitching or offensive to beat these guys.

Their defense is next level. Saved them today in a 1-0 game - and not just the HR that was caught. Hawaiians don’t make mistakes and they are strong at the plate. Their pitching is top notch.

I was very surprised to see Taiwan lose today. I watched curaçao beat Nicaragua and then lose to Panama. They’ve had a rough road to get to this point. Not sure if that’s a plus or a minus but they are going to need to some help from the baseball gods tomorrow if they want to compete with Honolulu.

LLWS is so awesome. Phils are back up there next year for the classic and I’m going to try to line up a hotel for a long weekend!!

Team Media, Pennsylvania, the Mid-Atlantic champs, are two or three towns over from my kids. They lost to Needville, Texas yesterday 2-1, and have a win or go home Saturday against Gray, Maine.

And Panama has a dude whose nickname is El Tractorcito, and I think that’s just phenomenal.
My avatar corresponds on my place in the Swamp posting list with the all-time Home Run list. Tied with Mel Ott at Number 25 is Miguel Cabrera at 511.

It takes me four turns (and 25 miles) to get to Needville. I had no idea they made it this far which goes to show you how much I pay attention to local news.

No spoilers in the off chance someone "recorded' the game, but... while a little sleepy to start, holy SHIT that game got great.

What a finish!

Now that we are at that time of year....Any swamp citizens have LLWS or equivalent experience back in the day (babe ruth/cal ripken)? Did any of your towns ever make a run even if you were not on the team? Brushes?

Mine is a brushes. Went to college with a kid on the Trumbull, CT team (Chris Drury team). He played baseball all 4 years (middle infielder I think).

Although we had an Official Little League league, for some reason we weren’t eligible for the LLWS. I never understood that, and it pissed me off as a kid. Had forgotten, but 2016 Champions Maine-Endwell is a few miles from my hometown.
