Clean sheet for Matt Turner and his merry men of Forest against Chelsea.

Being a Spurs fan right now is like being one of those Chilean miners emerging from a dark hell into the sunshine.

Oh, great. One more group of UK sport fans will now learn to hate Americans.

Re: EPL 2023-24
From the Men In Blazers newsletter this morning:
Then, to wake up this morning, and read Everton’s announcement they have signed an agreement to be sold to a Miami-based investment firm 777 Partners is the ultimate darkness. 777 began as an “investment firm” which chased litigation settlement claims. To be clear – signing an agreement is not the same as being sold – the Premier League have to approve the deal, but this is who we are now. 777 are not serious pedigreed owners who arrive with a blueprint and vision to restore the club to its traditional perch O’glory. These are bargain hunters looking to acquire and exploit distressed assets. With losses of over $534M over the past 5 years, and the Premier League about to rule on the club for breaches of Financial Fair Play, that could pretty well be Everton’s club nickname right now. The ultimate footballing distressed asset. Read this grim interview, in which the new owners – who yes, have cocaine convictions, allegations of fraud, illegal loans and failure to pay bills littered across their past – predict football is going to enter a period of “Hyper Commercialization.” Turns out, all this time, I have been cheering for a club that was already dead, with accounts so toxic, they scared off serious buyers. All that is left is for footballing buzzards to come in and pick the bones. We Everton fans have yearned for new ownership for so long. Now we live out every dark adage – “be careful what you wish for, it could come true” and “It could always be worse.” Cue Fast Car on Repeat.

What the hell is Man City wearing? It looks like a West Ham intrasquad scrimmage.

I don’t mind it other than the collars. I’m sure this further exposes me as a newbie but collars always look stupid.

I think collars look fine on TV, but I hate them on my jerseys.govmentchedda wrote: Sat Sep 16, 2023 9:47 amHard disagreemister d wrote: Sat Sep 16, 2023 9:43 am I don’t mind it other than the collars. I’m sure this further exposes me as a newbie but collars always look stupid.

That was a strange yet ultimately wonderful Spurs game.
Two goals in stoppage time for the win. Big Ange is the man!

The last one was a banger, but I really think de ges stops those first two. What good is it if he can pass if he can’t stop a shot.
One milkshake to bring all the boys to the yard and in the darkness bind them.

I don’t think I’ve ever seen this before. 8 different Newcastle players have scored.

Re: EPL 2023-24
Pochettino has gotten flack the last few games for starting Levi Colwill at left back instead of one of the three natural left backs on the roster. So, in today's Carabao Cup game against Brighton, he's starting all three of those left backs. And Colwill! That'll show the haters.
