Philly’s gone into beast mode, and believe you me it is fun to see, but this Arizona team does nothing for me. Take away their record vs COL and they’re a below .500 team. I know they’re the risk of an expanded playoff format, but…WOOF.

eta - I’m not taking anything away from Philly. You kick the crap out of the team in front of you is all you can do.

They swept two division winners. Yes expanded playoffs but to win 4 straight road games takes some doing.

Also crazy playoffs, no extra innings yet in 26 games.

Phillies starters so far this postseason: 6-0, 1.55 ERA, 51 Ks, 4 BBs.

And if they make that final series of the season they potentially get Rhys Hoskins back as a RH bat off the bench.

Any team that reaches the championship series has beaten good teams to get there, and yeah, they've apparently proven that any team can win any given series.

With this year's Phillies and looking back of his time with the Red Sox compared to what happened after, Dave Dombrowski is looking more and more impressive.

Has anyone confirmed which reliever it was who flops to the ground on the tackle? That really puts the video over the top.

Has a team ever petitioned Major League Baseball to play all games away? Astros are close to going 18-3 on the road in let 21 games while winning two at home since 9/14.

Did you know that in Altuve's 13th MLB season there were a maximum of 53 playoff games whereas in Jeter's there was 41 and in Reggie's there was 17 and in Mantle's there was 7???

(Playoff records are meaningless. I think Bernie Williams might still hold like half of them.)

Astros have become a powerhouse no doubt, During our childhood they were an afterthought. Just two playoff appearances, 80 and 86 (which got them into RBI Baseball)

Seriously. I even preferred it to the more prolific ones on the other gaming systems.

If I wanted to get my simulation / realism itch scratched, I'd fire up Tony Larussa's Ultimate Baseball I or II on DOS. You could import seasons of stats. Seriously the game was way ahead of its time considering Windows 95 was 3-4 years down the road.

More like Corey E-ger.

(Brutally tough play especially assuming there was a lot of topspin on it.)

They're giving infielders hits on those plays these days. Get your body in front of it, cuz Seager ole'd that thing.

He said, not ever having to get in front of a 110 mph ground ball.

I think he fields it differently if he's not trying to turn two, but I also have and would never get my body in front of 110.

We need one of those pitcher overlay videos of Kimbrel and Chapman going R/L and spraying the ball who-the-fuck-knows-where in massive leverage situations.
