Yeah. There ought to be a law. Imagine the Ravens wearing Browns uniforms. (And yes I know the steps the NFL took to ensure that not happen)

Absolutely. Honouring the history that the franchise just couldn't get away from quickly enough. Fuck the Titans anyway - all over the Texans this week.

Heading the Bengals - 49ers game today...we'll see how this goes with the Bengals coming off the bye and Niners having lost two in a row.
If it goes south at least I got to meet up with everybody's favorite host SC yesterday!

Those Oilers uniforms are a thing of beauty. The team might be a big bag of dicks, but Columbia blue and scarlet are just lovely.

AKA Pat-ch?
Have a good time even if division rivalries dictate that I hope the Niners win.

Why is Belichek wearing a Croatian flag?
I assume from the name he’s Croatian, but is there a reason he’s showing the flag today? Is there yet another war I missed?

And his one problem is he didn’t go to Russia that night because he had extracurricular activities, and they froze to death.

And so they’re breaking out the Oilers look against their longtime rival….the Falcons? Guess it’s a Jerry Glanville tribute?

Seen it on other coaches too this season for other countries. Certain you are right on Belichek’s ancestry. Think it’s a league effort to broaden attention in other countries.Steve of phpBB wrote: ↑Sun Oct 29, 2023 12:28 pm Why is Belichek wearing a Croatian flag?

Re: NFL 2023 Week 8 - Oilers
How do sacks works statistically for a QB? Does it go against his pass yards, rush yards, or neither?

Re: NFL 2023 Week 8 - Oilers
It goes against team passing yards, but nothing against the QB as other than sacked and yards lost. It’s a separate number.
So the Giants had -9 net passing yards today.

Re: NFL 2023 Week 8 - Oilers
Which is a record-breaking performance.
Pity the drunks who sat through that game in the rain.
The Tennessee Titans have the fewest passing yards by a team in a game, with -7 yards versus the Patriots on October 18, 2009
Of note, the Titans lost that game 59-0. The Giants lost in overtime.

AP story said it was the worst performance since 2000, when the Browns had -9 in a game.

Re: NFL 2023 Week 8 - Oilers
I can't put into words how bad the Jets-Giants game was. Jets converted on 3rd down for the first time in the 4th quarter. I think they were 0-12 and the only way they converted was because it was a blown up play were several D-linemen got through unblocked and Wilson was able to scramble for yards. The big play of the game to set up the winning FG in OT was a long throw (the first attempt by either team over 12 yards or so) that was underthrown by 7 yards, so the WR stopped and the DB was flagged for interference. I don't know if DeVito attempted a pass beyond the line of scrimmage.
When the Jets got the ball back with 1:17 left, my son yelled at me for leaving the game on. My FiL was a Giants fan, so he was over watching the game. We were on DVR about an hour behind. He asked my son to look up some stats, and he saw the final score. He yelled not to turn off the game, so I wasn't surprised. But still, the Jets had the ball deep in their own end with 17 seconds left and no timeouts and weren't able to move the ball all game. As horrendous as the Jets were, the Giants were just a bit worse.

I was watching The RedZone, so I missed the "ebb and flow" of this atrocity. The Sybian wrote: ↑Sun Oct 29, 2023 7:47 pm I can't put into words how bad the Jets-Giants game was.
But towards the end of the game, the play by play guy was talking about what an exciting game it had been. Sarcasm? Not so sure.

Re: NFL 2023 Week 8 - Oilers
There was no flow, all ebb. Only good play the entire game was Hall's 50 yard TD catch. 2 yards pass with a nice run. Not even great defensive plays. Jets are playing with 3rd string O-linemen, and the Giants were in on Wilson in under 2 seconds. Can't fault him for much of the play, although he kept failing to get rid of the ball and taking sacks at the worst times. Jets punter was phenomenal. Most exciting aspect of the game was Morestead landing back-to-back punts inside the 2. Both hit the ground and just stuck, no bounce. Incredible. The final minute was exciting, except for the realization that it extended the game.Pruitt IV wrote: ↑Sun Oct 29, 2023 7:50 pmI was watching The RedZone, so I missed the "ebb and flow" of this atrocity. The Sybian wrote: ↑Sun Oct 29, 2023 7:47 pm I can't put into words how bad the Jets-Giants game was.

Re: NFL 2023 Week 8 - Oilers
I've been to many games as an opposing fan and Levi's Stadium was one of the worst. I am a keep-to-myself type person but I've finally realized when I go by myself I become a target for people to try and talk to me. The seat I purchased through Ticketmaster was garbage so I ended up doing SRO and I can say 49er fans are some of the worst. They went from being friendly-to-indifferent to assholes the minute they were down 7-0.
I'm not even mentioning the trolling that the organization tried by:
1) celebrating Alumni Day and specifically acknowledging the 81 and 88 Super Bowl teams (who did they beat in those two games???)
2) using the scoreboard/jumbotron to zoom in on what are perceived to be "missed" holding calls on the Bengals to rile up the fans...no wonder their fanbase is so violent.
That being said the better team won today...the Bengals were well prepared and Burrow was on point.
