I can't imagine listening to this guy for five minutes, yet alone 43. Like if Jehovah himself patched through the airwaves and tv, and said that he was going to send a report explaining the meaning of life in written form, and he chose Ben Shapiro to deliver it, my reaction would be something along the lines of "eh, I'll just read the transcript the next day".The Sybian wrote: Sun Jul 23, 2023 8:49 pmI can’t imagine old people listening/watching Shapiro. From my very limited experience listening to Shapiro, he says a lot of things that sound intelligent (I believe he has a Harvard Law degree), but is either factually wrong or based on Talmudic bullshit. Heard him rant against homosexuality and pre-marital sex by citing strict interpretations of Judaism. I believe he is Orthodox. He was just so fucking indignant and convinced his holy texts are rock solid facts.Pruitt IV wrote: Sun Jul 23, 2023 4:47 pmHate's a powerful emotion.L-Jam3 wrote: Sun Jul 23, 2023 12:00 pm I mean more like why him? There's 44 seasons of Survivor out there. 11 years of Cheers. Murder She Wrote. Dallas. Perry Mason. Mayberry RFD.
The Beverly Hillbillies. Person of Interest. 24. Multiple channels devoted to showing sports. Thousands of movies out there for the watching. 70 years of rock music. 100 years of country. Video games are basically playable from the NES/Sega forward, which was about 35 years go. Beer. Wine. Liquor. Hamburgers. Pizza. And centuries worth of video of porn. All available at the touch of a button.
But people choose to listen to this angry chipmunk. I just don't get it.
I had a vision of tens of thousands of barely sentient octogenarians in their old age homes staring at their computers as this dweeb pontificates.
I have a friend who told me to listen to him over 5 years ago. It was during the Colorado bakery case where the baker refused to make a wedding cake for a gay couple. Shapiro just completely mangled the law surrounding public accommodations. I could see someone who didn’t know the law and history being persuaded, but he just fucking misunderstood all of it. Plus, he is such a whiny, sniveling, arrogant twerp. I’d find him unlistenable even if he agreed with my politics.

Re: Twitter:The New Batch
It absolutely needs to be noted that the purported richest person on earth bought twitter to take it private and is making changes that are so harebrained that the argument why he's doing it isn't to make it better, but between he's trying to actively break it vs. he's just not that smart.

Now that Twitter is almost dead we can probably crown the great Tweet of all-time.

Wait, the change to “X” was the bridge too far? Not the fact that he takes it over and use of the N-word goes up 500%?brian wrote: Mon Jul 31, 2023 8:08 pm Finally deleted this dumbfuck app today after the logo changed. Peace out.

Re: Twitter:The New Batch
I mean honestly I was never really on there much any more but yeah the app/logo change was the straw that broke the camel’s back.

50 what, ounces? As seen on Shark, is that a new streaming platform? I guess they will take anyone’s money.

Some of the keto gummy ads also include a cast photo, so I've thought about QT'ing it to Cuban and asking about his endorsement.

Re: Twitter:The New Batch
I thought it was a scam and they just said Shark hoping people would imply Shark Tank and they could avoid claims of false advertising. If they actually were on Shark Tank, I'd wager Cuban yelled them off the set calling it a scam. I haven't watched in years, but Cuban would get angry at people peddling supplements and wouldn't give them a chance to explain. Or maybe that was one time and it just stuck with me.DSafetyGuy wrote: Mon Jan 08, 2024 12:07 pmShark Tank. The Sybian wrote: Mon Jan 08, 2024 7:12 am 50 what, ounces? Re: Twitter:The New Batch
Anyone else finding a recent increase in borderline porn popping up in the comments of Tweets? Not sure if it's bots posting in comments or if they are allowing sexual content in the sponsored comments. It starts off fairly innocent, usually scantily women. Made the mistake of clicking on one image one time, and nothing but porn for a week. That subsided, but still lots of the bait comments in every Tweet I look at.

I'm not on that platform (broken record), but... WaPo had an article that the severe lack of moderation is allowing a lot of AI Deep Fake Porn to proliferate... And not just the recent TayTay incident.
That place fucking sucks.

Anyone else suddenly beset by a variety of MAGA and other conservative ads? It just started within the last week. Before that, it was mostly Liver King, various stupid dropship products, and dumb phone games (I actually still get these).
