Those are fun alternate universe quotes. See the reaction if you tell some sequestered trump fans (or media members) that Vance gave a goofy interview about spicy foods while Harrs was claiming over 100% of new jobs went to white dudes and the Medal of Honor is just for people who got themselves shot up.

Just beef and cheese is kinda weird though. That's more like white, 9-year-old tacos.

BTW, and not for nothing... The idea that Trump held a 2 hour press conference to focus on inflation/the economy at Bedminster...

It's not 4 Seasons Landscaping level of stupid, but it's pretty fucking close. What does a Bedminster membership cost?? $250k? $500k??

Fucking morons.

He's so fucking lazy, he can't be bothered to head to the local grocery store and actually deliver an actual message.

Not even. No seasoning is just plain weird. If Trump said it, we'd make fun of him like well done steaks with ketchup.

L-Jam4's Boy Scout troop will make walking tacos for Scout dinners on every camping trip, to which at least one dad there will do their best (albeit poor) impression and ask for a "Walken Taco".

You can still get them at what I assume is the old Woolworths’s now called Five and Dime. Bunch of cheap souvenirs and then food in the back.

It's honestly tough to gauge. Anyone with a thinking brain would've been turned off the second he insulted John McCain, but alas. This comment is a continuation of his mania.

And it's tough to gauge because...

It is absolutely drilled into you in basic training that you're part of a neutral entity and the entirety of politics is beneath you. Your oath is to the Constitution. You are completely above the fray. The words from all politicians (especially during election season) is the same as the teacher from Charlie Brown.

The military is a cross section of America because it takes volunteers from all states. And even from locations where people want to earn American citizenship. We are not monolithic in any sense.

Recruitment is a numbers game and recruiters have to maintain quotas. Far easier to recruit from red states and red districts than in blue states and blue districts. So...the military gets disproportionally white and male (and Christian).

The military is also a "tough guy" environment for some career fields and services. Democrats have never been able to shake the "weak-willed" perception. So Republicans win on face value there because "perception is reality."

But we are still a voting bloc. And luckily we're all encouraged to vote. Also, over time we have been progressively getting better in certain areas to accommodate folks from minority areas (in terms of military population).

So, I hope it breaks through, but ultimately, I can look out my window right now and see Trump bumper stickers on a shitty suburban owned by a white, very Christian Airman with tags from Washington. (Gotta be Eastern Washington.) So, I don't know...

Thanks for that. Kind of aware but a good reminder of the demographics and mindset.

Here's a short list, off the top of my head:

* Called John McCain a loser for getting captured.
* Referred to the dead service people in Europe as suckers
* Duffed on a planned trip to visit another cemetery because of poor weather (which was dubious)
* Didn't want injured/wounded veterans at his rallies because he said no one would want to see that.
* Skipped numerous Veteran's Day events.
* Insulted Gold Star families and war heroes

That's literally off the top of my head, and this isn't even something I think about all that often. That should be a targeted ad campaign, but I understand Harris/Walz have bigger fish to fry.

New details on the bizarre effort to hide the USS John S. McCain for Trump

And then there was the weird thing where some supporter gave him a Purple Heart medal.

Seriously, not really insulting to just active duty and veterans, and their families... and their friends.

The vast majority of Americans, even if they don't agree with our foreign policy, support the troops and their service to our country. Like, I'm with Bill Burr on the whole standing and clapping at sporting events when they do the military dog and pony show... But I still respect folks who devote a portion of their life to that type of service.

Again, just like constantly being shitty towards women... We've had enough time with this guy... These should be disqualifying. His mouthbreathing brigade is impervious to facts.

Honestly, Tim Walz kind of saved my brain. Instead of getting angry, you just mentally pat them on the head and call them FUCKING WEIRDOS.

Period and end of story. What a bunch of fucking loons.

Yeah, that seems pretty big.

I tried googling a bit to see if the VFW is an auto-endorser of Republicans and all I'm getting are articles from 2010 about their PAC endorsing Democrats and the "commander in charge" at the time dissolving the PAC thereafter.

Looks like their current "commander in charge" is a Georgia native and Vietnam vet with lots of accolades.

I’d say the VFW leans right as an org but it mostly non-partisan. HOWEVA….distribution to their membership which absolutely leans right can only help break thru their Fox echo chamber where I doubt Trump’s comments were mentioned.

Just a reminder that Trump was sent to military school because he was a piece of shit. There are numerous articles quoting his classmates stating he was a notorious fuckhead.

He has said his time at this academy taught him more than active duty could have about how the military works.
