They killed night one. Still amazed this is the current party approach. Never thought they could get here. Probably had to finally cycle away from the generation that has been in an defensive apologetic crouch since 1968 and 1972z

Obama's crew knew what they were doing. This entire cycle is down to Biden just not being able to see the forest for the trees... Until he did.

You clearly didn't stay up for Biden. So uncomfortable...wrap it up, buddy. It's not your ad. They're literally cheering because you stepped down.

But Jamie mother humpin' Raskin!

It makes me wonder if I should finally get one of those "Love It Or Leave It" shirts.
Bet they approached Jordan. Still got some sneakers to sell I guess.

Biden was perfect, actually. Got the thanks he deserved from what were up until a month ago his delegates. Said exactly what he had to about how he’s not mad. Last night especially worked for what came before him - which was mostly the future of the party starting to be unleashed.

Back to an earlier point... I wasn't planning on watching Biden and flipped over and was shocked they hadn't gotten to him at that point.

The speeches need to TIGHTEN THE FUCK UP. There's no excuse for Biden to slipping past prime time. None.

The Pod Save Bros were very critical of this from a former speech writing perspective. Not only did speeches meander, but they were saying people talked too slow.

I tried to watch a couple times and gave up. Partly slow talking, and constant pauses for cheers. I figured I’d listen to Pod Save and see clips here and get the gist. I listen to pods sped up, and have no patience for normal speaking speed.

Eh - no danger it goes that long Wednesday or Thursday with Walz and Harris to go. That it went long on opening night I’ve got no issues with. News media only really mad that Biden didn’t go earlier and gaffe in that window, frankly.

Yeah, I listened to the Pod Save segment on this and it's probably more down to my former life in that world and the stress of putting on a large event and ppl not hitting their fucking timing marks and fucking up the flow.

Not a big deal in the bigger picture.

I listened to it too - I thought a little uneven from them - sometimes they are a little too inside baseball - this might be one of those times.

Yeah, I think they had a terrible vantage point in the bldg to get a feel how that was playing on TV. They didn’t talk about Fain at all. They barely touched on AOC. And I thought the one of them that bitched about Biden not “introducing” Harris enough in his speech was really off - Biden’s job IMO was to make clear he is good with his decision etc - and to make sure everyone knows the needs of the country to defeat Trump are paramount. I thought he nailed that. And they really missed the outpouring of thanks and affection for him that was proper and that the delegates really wanted to have moments to do.

Not their finest pod effort frankly. Yeah, probably too tired.

So much complaining about this from east coasters. Worked great for the rest of us.

It was an excellent speech. If you missed it, I hope you can find a replay.

Same. I'm a 1.7x guy on podcasts. I simply can't listen at slower speeds.

I'm gonna let this go, but... it's kind of important to get the top speaker done before well more than half of nightly newscasts are already on the air. This isn't an east coast bias issue, it's an eyeballs and attention to details issue.

And I'm reading numerous columns from folks in the arena... They just had too many speakers and on top of that most of them were just too slow. Did we really need a tribute from a Delaware Senator, Biden's wife AND his daughter?

The middle age white man and the youngish black lady were not very good speakers. The guy had no feel for the crowd whatsoever. The lady did the constant yelling thing which made it impossible to have any sort of crescendo

I completely missed this from the Musk interview. I don't know if he meant to say an eighth of inch per year or not, but nonetheless, this fucking idiot thinks that rising water levels equate to more oceanfront property.
"You know the biggest threat is not global warming when the ocean's gonna rise one-eighth of an inch in the next 400 years and you'll have more oceanfront property. The biggest threat is not that," said the GOP candidate.

I keep hearing Trump bragging how more people died of Covid under Biden's presidency compared to his. Somewhat related, Mac Jones threw for more touchdowns in his last 3 seasons than Cam Newton did for his one season with the Pats.
