I hate that song so much. They were huge in my high school, as they played local festivals and bars. Then my college roommate discovered them and played this song constantly, and often at 6:30 am when he’d wake up for class.

Somewhere in a box in the basement I have the tapes from Dave Matthews and Rusted Root at the Virginia Horse Center from November 1994. Did not go to the show as I kinda knew who they were but had a test the next morning.

We had Rusted Root play in our fraternity house in college. I"m not sure of the year, but it was around '95. Saw them a few years later at the local ski resort. Still a great live band.

the band I was in opened for them in 1995. Clarion College, PA.
My very clear memory: they stank.
They were fine musically but I mean they very literally smelled like ass. Backstage and standing behind the backline was just ...rank. Some horrid combination of hippie patchouli and sweat.

in a similar way to my "incident" with peach schnapps in high school and how to this day I can't smell a peach without feeling nauseous... since that gig if I'm near that shitty patchouli smell I think of Rusted Root and how much I never want to hear this damn song again.
