I have 2 from banana republic and one from vuori that are in heavy rotation. I also moved my "sweatpant" to the soccer version of these pants for doing... athletic type stuff.
My issue with the one that is specifically linked here are the cuffs or whatever you call the elastic thing at the end of the legs. I don't like that... at all. I don't know why, but it just bugs me. I tend to wear long-ish socks, and those cuffs tend to pull them down too much.

Yeah, I have a couple pairs of those kind of pants. One Vuori and one REI. Got both of them as gifts. I wear shorts for six or eight months of the year but it looks like it’s just about time to start long pants season. I like those pants so I’m kind of looking forward to it.

I think my issue is that the fabric is too heavy for Florida living. I don't mind the elastic ankle cuffs.

Okay, I'm interested in these. I'm normally a 30 inseam. Would you guys recommend 29 or 31?mister d wrote: Tue Oct 24, 2023 9:25 amThese have been a real revelation. I don't think I've worn any other pants in a calendar year, funerals excepted.

Re: Metrosexual Tips II
Recently started moisturizing, and am shocked at how much better my face and skin feel (and, to a much lesser extent, look) after a few weeks.
My doctor recommended I wear sunscreen EVERY day - even indoors - since skin cancer hates sunscreen. And my wife told me there are great moisturizers with sunscreen. So I found one that doesn't feel greasy or leave any white residue on my beard.
The price isn't ideal, but I'm six weeks in of daily use and still on my first bottle. Plus, I took a risk and bought four bottles when they were on sale for half the current price. So I'm feeling pretty good.

Interesting. I have a full wagon and juicy thick thighs so I was thinking the 31. Especially because, unlike women of the Victorian era, I don't love showing off my ankles.

Those look comfortable as hell too. I'd say the joggers are a tick above in terms of dressed up but you're still not going to a funeral in them.

Agreed. I wear these around the house, running errands, and sometimes to travel.mister d wrote: Fri Oct 25, 2024 8:52 am Those look comfortable as hell too. I'd say the joggers are a tick above in terms of dressed up but you're still not going to a funeral in them.
Looking for slip-on footwear to wear with them and joggers outside. I have a nice pair of Olukais for inside the house. But since my wife is half-Japanese, we don't wear the same shoes inside and outside.
Was thinking about some Boston Birkenstocks, but my oldest son beat me to them. Still might grab them.
Re: Metrosexual Tips II
Lol. When I changed jobs from working in a formal office environment to working from home, half of my wardrobe transformed from formalwear to loungewear. Still making the transition.
Re: Metrosexual Tips II
$100+ for a pair of pants that don't even cover my ankles? Damn. Is that really the going rate nowadays? I haven't bought clothes to wear outside the house in years.

Re: Metrosexual Tips II
What razors do you guys use?
I used to get the "Daily Shave Club" blades, but they changed the design of the handle, and they now suck (any little bump and the blade cartridge comes off the handle).
I'm going to start letting my beard grow again shortly, but still have to shave my neck.

Re: Metrosexual Tips II
I shave my neck once a week and use one disposable Kroger brand razor that comes in packs of 20 for $5.99.
I buy my pants at Academy for $28. The last button-up shirt I bought was for $24 at Macy's in Vegas, and I wore that for all three of our dinners. I mainly survive on the same four pairs of shorts I've had for at least five years and a rotation of 36 band t-shirts. I have a rotation of maybe eight collared shirts to wear into the office, so I wear one once a month.
Yet I'm still broke as a joke.

I originally did DSC, but didn't like the quality (at all), so when Harry's arrived on the scene, I went with an upgraded handle and blades arrive every other month.DaveInSeattle wrote: Fri Oct 25, 2024 10:13 am What razors do you guys use?

Been a steady customer for many years. (You can buy them at Target now, fyi.)
I'm not a beard guy, so I go through razors at a decent clip. The quality and price of Harry's is pretty great.

Re: Metrosexual Tips II
If you mean Dollar Shave Club, I've been using them for awhile. Yes, they stopped selling blades that fit the handle I used. Didn't see any disclaimers, and I ordered refills that fit the old handle I don't like as much. I was in a pinch, as my son waited until the before he left for college to tell me he was out of blades, and DSC took too long to deliver. I read that DSC rebrands Dorco brand blades, so I ordered a bunch off Amazon. Unfortunately, I ordered the 4 blade instead of the 6. It works, but the gap between the blades is too big. And the back of the cartridge is closed, wo it's hard to clean the hairs out of the cartridge. Stuck with a case of those...DaveInSeattle wrote: Fri Oct 25, 2024 10:13 am What razors do you guys use?

Think I'm gonna give one of these a swing when my current blades run out.

I've been Harry's forever, quality still seems the same even with the expansion, although I'm also just a neck and cheeks guy. (Calm down, Rass.)
Re: Metrosexual Tips II
I bitched at DSC when they changed handles and they sent me a new one. Works fine for me. I’m afraid to go back to a traditional safety razor like Henson, because historically, those things carved me up like Freddy Krueger. Oh, and fuck Gillette “Labs”.

Gillette Styler does well for my face, neck, and as a beard trimmer. I know it's basic. But it works well for me and is easily replaceable. I get a new one around every year.

Have any of you Duer dudes tried their NoSweat Essential pants?
Re: Metrosexual Tips II
Yup. Solid when I need to look slightly better or don't want to wear sneakers but I grab them 1 of 10 times.

These pants must be amazing. I can't fathom buying 100+ buck pants to wear around the house. My $10 specials work fine.Giff wrote: Fri Oct 25, 2024 10:19 am I shave my neck once a week and use one disposable Kroger brand razor that comes in packs of 20 for $5.99.

Now, I will pay for good shoes/footwear, sock, jeans, slacks, dress shirts, but for loungy stuff the walmart specials are fine. Granted, I do not work from home so I wear jeans more than anything else, so maybe it's a function of wear time vs. comfort.
And I use mach 5s. right now its just neck and cheeks but until a month ago I was clan shaven. I didn't care for DSC or Harry's razors. Gilette has just been more consistent for me, with less bumps.

Do you leave the house dressed down or will you always throw on jeans or something? I feel like that's a big gap when it comes to pays for casual wear versus doesn't.

Re: Metrosexual Tips II
I would just wear whatever I have on if I were going to run to the store, or maybe even lunch if its just something quick. If I am going to end up somewhere else I'll wear either chino shorts or yeah, toss on some jeans. If that's what you're using them for I can see them being more functional, sure.mister d wrote: Fri Oct 25, 2024 1:21 pm Do you leave the house dressed down or will you always throw on jeans or something? ETA: I guess I have one pair of casual pants that were probably $30 and those are sometimes the "running out" pant.

I'm using Leaf razor (I got it from Amazon) and it works great. I tried Henson and liked it but I dropped it once in the shower and the handle bent...they wouldn't provide a replacement so I took my business elsewhere.DaveInSeattle wrote: Fri Oct 25, 2024 10:13 am What razors do you guys use?

Re: Metrosexual Tips II
Why would you try to get them to replace it if you broke it? I get that the handle is the anchor for these purchases and can see why they might want to send a replacement for future revenue purposes, but unless it was within the initial period of use, that just sounds like bad luck, not the company's fault.
