I'm Throwing Rocks Tonight..Mark it Dude (Bowling)

Hard to bowl well on a lane that is slanted
Hard to bowl well with balls that are either drilled for hulk hands or Tinkerbell
The new string style pin setting is way less fun than old school pin action style lanes
But still pretty cool to roll at the lanes in the basement at 1600 Pennsylvania Ave

Okay so here are some pictures and videos

My sister is a Biden appointee. So she has the ability to get a reservation to bowl at the Truman lanes. You get a 2 hour block. You go through security and enter the old executive building. You have to send in your info so they can clear you before you go. You go into the basement and it looks like a basement. Exposed pipes and grey lockers you would see for janitorial staff and such. They unlock a door and you have a very small kitchenette. It is BYOB and bring your own food. They have cubby holes with bowling shoes. You pick a pair and then bowl. The lanes are the type I imagine a mid level pro athlete would have installed. But you get auto scoring and the lanes have bumpers as an option. They also have one of those ramps for sending a ball down. Carpet looks old

more than you think. There are between 1100 and 1300 bowlers on those lanes each month.

Never mind, no longer cool.

Fuck, just think about the list of people who rolled on those lanes!

Its like thinking about everyone who has ever slept on your hotel bed or used the silverware you're using at a restaurant.

Makes you wonder if Arnold Palmer and his huge, dripping hog ever rolled on those lanes.

Pretty cool. White house? Though I feel confident in saying you will bowl your low string at a Milwaukee alley under the street level

I bowled next to PBA Tour player Patrick Dombrowski during my practice session today. He's been an off-and-on player on tour for several years but has played a lot more in the last two years. He was runner up in the 2024 USBC Masters. Today, he was bowling just a tad better than me. By a tad better I mean by like 60-70+ pins per game.

Watching a pro player up close in any sport is impressive. That guy has the best bowling form I've ever seen in person.

Couldn’t do us a solid and gone with, I don’t know, maybe “fundamentals” instead of “form”?

Which reminds me, where has Max been?
