Thanks, I was planning on watching there when a couple more episodes came out. Surprised to find out I have Paramount on FiOs. This is the first non-sports game I’ve watched or recorded on cable in years! I don’t know why my wife insists on keeping cable, she only streams from her phone, probably doesn’t even realize FiOs has an app she could watch live tv or DVR from her phone.Nonlinear FC wrote: Thu Nov 14, 2024 11:57 am It is NOT on Paramount+, much to my confusion and bewilderment when I went looking for it last night. It's only on mainstream Paramount, which is what I was rambling about above in terms of the cursing and the fucking.

One of the reasons we re-upped with Max, and yet a full month in and other shows have crowded it off our plate.
Need to fix that this weekend.

Re: Television (no longer temporary)
Finished it last night. 2 Seasons, only 16 total episodes in the series. It comes to a definite end, left itself open to continuing, but I read they are stopping at two season. It's unlike anything I've ever seen, and I highly recommend watching it. Just realize if you start it, the cheesy over the top 80s sitcom thing isn't the real show. It's dark, depressing, but man it's good.EdRomero wrote: Fri Sep 27, 2024 6:43 am I started watching Kevin Can F*** Himself for the Worcester references, but I just binged the whole series because it was so good.
I really enjoyed Annie Murphy, playing pretty much the exact opposite character she played in Schitt's Creek. Her Massachusetts accent is distractingly bad at times, but so is a real person with a Mass accent. I was really drawn into the characters and their world even though they had few redeeming qualities and their lives were really shitty.

We're binging* the heck out of it. Keri is absolutely terrific and the rest of the cast is more than holding their own. The only thing that continues to bug the crap out of me is how she continues to be so disheveled. Wash your damn hair and put on an outfit that... fits.
* - Binging for us means watching an episode just about every night, consecutively. Though, we often will kill off a series by watching the penultimate and finale on the same night. (/no one asked)

Can't remember what we did for S1 but we just watched all six of these in two nights. Is Batman in The Penguin?

Re: Television (no longer temporary)
Is that a spoiler? I don't want to answer.
The show is nothing about anything to do with a superhero at this point.
Pure backstory. It's so good!

I'll check out The Diplomat after as well, but the Kari Russell talk has me thinking, I cannot for the life of me recall how The Americans ended.

Today, BlueSky told me there's a new adaptation of August Wilson's A Piano Lesson starring Samuel L. Jackson among others that's supposed to be really good.
Re: Television (no longer temporary)
I won't spoil anything about Batman, but the show isn't really about super heroes/villains. It's a crime show about an underling trying to rise up. Like Goodfellas or Scarface.

Re: Television (no longer temporary)
Inside Man was a bit emotional for me with the themes of aging parents and dementia, but Ted Danson is great, and it has that good quality all Michael Schur shows seem to have. Also the grandchildren are hilarious.

Not to be pedantic but for anyone looking to watch it the show is called A Man On The Inside.
“Inside Man” is a completely different Netflix show.

I've been watching "Penguin" when riding my windtrainer in the morning, and so far so good.
Colin Farrell has the "fat guy walk" down perfectly...just like Vito Spatafore from The Sopranos.

Re: Television (no longer temporary)
Say Nothing was great. I thought it lost a little steam after some jumps ahead after episode 6 (which itself was incredible) but it was maybe trying to wrap up too big a story in those final couple of episodes. Both my wife and cerrano (and his wife) recommend the book it is based on.
I felt aswirl with warm secretions.
Re: Television (no longer temporary)
Season 2 of Shrinking has been excellent...I potentially better than the first. Episode 8 was one of the best single episodes of any show I can recall.

I'm feeling overwhelmed by all the quality TV I know I'm behind on.
My current list:
Great British Baking Show (halfway through current season)
Cross (a few episodes left)
The Day of the Jackal
The Bear Season 3
Season 2 of Tulsa King
Doves
Skeleton Crew
The Agency
Dune
Man on the Inside

Wrapped up Cross. Very, very good. But damn it's dark. I don't know if I'll be back for Season 2. It's a personal preference, but I don't like to stay in disturbing mental places for that long.

I’m excited to watch the first season of Netflix’s 2-season adaptation of Gabriel García Márquez’s One Hundred Years of Solitude.
