Clearly a penalty, and I'm fine with the ejection, but man, people have no fucking clue how fast NFL players are moving. You have to tackle and it's impossible to pull out of a hit that quickly. Personal attacks are ridiculous, it's not like the guy is Donte Burfict with a history of cheap shots.

I’m not saying he should be suspended. But let’s not pretend he doesn’t have a history of cheap shots.

If its impossible to pull out of a hit why aren't hits like that happening every week and probably not once or twice? From what I've read, I'm pretty sure I'd like the guy, but just call it dirty and move on.

I'm sorry but if anybody refers to God (or other chosen deity) in a statement (apology?) that means they are not taking responsibility for their actions.

Like many other things...multiple things can be true at once. The racism and islamophobia he faces is abhorrent, wrong and should not be tolerated. While he also has a history of cheap shots under the guise of "playing hard" or whatever excuse he wants to use.

If he didn't see the slide, fine. But he lead with his left forearm. There were only two things Lawrence was going to do...slide or keep running...what did he think he was going to do just launching himself from that far out at a guy running in open space?

Sorry, man, I appreciate the sentiments in the statement, but that's a very dirty hit. Just no debating it.

Yes, NFL players are moving very fast, but they also have incredible reflexes and split second decision-making. If he thought Lawrence was going to keep running, why is he crouching down so low and why did purposely use his forearm (like GoodKarma is stressing) to clock him in the chest/shoulder?

That's not how you tackle someone.

Dirty.

I don’t think anyone disagrees it was “dirty”. I only use quotes because I feel like using that term makes them out to be dirty players which I don’t think he has a history of being.

So with that one deducted, three plays. For sure, let’s send bacon and ham to a Muslim whose address was posted online.

Again, haven’t heard anyone say a penalty and ejection weren’t warranted.

Disagree. If they’re going to wear all-navy, they need the giant orange parentheses on the sides like the late-90s Terrell Davis-era. They need the distinguishing feature.

Yeah, or maybe just orange numbers with white outline instead of vice versa.

Remember a couple years ago when the Saints kept scoring like 13 points a week with all of those weapons and then every week, Dennis Allen was like "Yeah, we're gonna go with the 35 year old ginger again."

Well it was a terrible throw. He had it outside. Elijah Moore's defense also left something to be desired.

I guess that's how.

Still, if you put Winston in a good situation where he doesn't need to score 35 every week (and that could be the 2025 Browns), I think you could get like boss mode Ryan Fitzpatrick out of him.

Tough way to go 8-2 on the week when the backdoor cover was right there, though. Come on Jameis.

That puts me at 22 out of my last 28. This is an all time heater, frogs. It will probably be extinguished next week.

Very true. With ATL's offense he'd be putting up even bigger numbers.

I like gunslingers. But it's pretty bright line. Either you make enough plays to offset the picks and bad spots you put the team in or you don't. His talent is and always has been just short of what makes sense since he came into the NFL. Ultimately he will ruin a team no matter who you put around him. And still probably one of the 20 best QBs in the world. Just can't win with him. Jeff George (but that guy had a cannon), drew bledsoe

Wouldn't Joe Flacco fit into that group too, but he won once? Maybe Eli Manning as well.

I just don't think Jameis Winston should be put in the career backup slot while guys like Sam Darnold and even Gardner Minshew keep going into seasons as starters.

Winston is also pretty stupid, and teams grow weary of his act.

And Al-Shaair was suspended three games.
