Not to be pedantic but for anyone looking to watch it the show is called A Man On The Inside.
“Inside Man” is a completely different Netflix show.
Really enjoyed the show. Nice finale, and an obvious setup for a season two.
One of the things I liked about A Man on the Inside was all the beautiful scenery shots of the San Francisco area. I get weary of the folks from the red states saying on social media that SF is a shithole. So, it is nice to see this argument in favor of the place.
We're finishing up S1 of Shrinking. Holy crap this is a needy bunch of people. The vulnerability is off the charts, coming from every which way, and when they collide, the needier wins out.
And why the hell would Jimmy sit down with Gabby and tell his daughter that they had sex? And then humor ensues when he reveals awkward moments about said sexual encounter? Was the purpose of that scene to be one of the most cringe-worthy scenes in the 21st century?

So much cringe in that show.
I've found this show (so far) as enticing as 'This is Us'.
My wife loved that show. I hated it. I had to remember to not make comments about anything about it during or after episodes. Even though it was a gold mine to riff from. Cuz it made her feel bad and I didn't want that.

Why would you watch a show you hated?
Purposely? Of course I wouldn’t. But there were times when I’d be out and arrive home when she’d be watching it. So I’d fire up the iPad and quietly await the show to end.
Conversely, there are shows I’ve hate-watched (Succession comes to mind) but that gets old.
Yeah, we definitely have stuff where I teen-out and just stare at my phone while still being in the same room. Melrose Place is a default "nothing is on" show for her which I don't care about but can tolerate in the background. Those awful MTV shows I cannot given until they allow them to say "fuck" and "motherfucker" and "fuck off" and "fuck you" without bleeping it out since the bleeping is what makes it untenable.

Oh, man. I was so glad when the This is Us run was halted in our house. I liked it just fine at first (Mandy Moore is an angel), but it became pretty insufferable after about the middle of S1. It was all just so fraught, ALL THE TIME. Like, take a fucking breath, chill out.
I can see why folks would not like Shrinking. I got pretty sick of Scrubs and Cougar Town after a few seasons and Shrinking shares a lot of its humor and timing (and a few actors) of those shows. But I like most of what Bill Lawrence produces and I think this show is less sitcom than most of his other stuff.
With that said, I really like that Ted Lasso ended when it did. My biggest beef with popular shows is when they keep extending past where the original showrunners "good idea(s)" have played out. Five seasons is the sweet spot and beyond that... meh. Very rare for a show to be any good past that.

Uh-oh, I have something I need to tell you... They are currently filming another season of Ted Lasso.

Well, we're well inside the 5 season cut-off limit. So.. all good!
(I had heard this but forgot to go back and find out the details. Seems unclear what role Sudekis will play, but most other cast members are coming back. I guess not Jamie Tartt? I had originally heard they were gonna do a spinoff focused on the women's team, but I think that was 100 percent bullshit.)

Lots of speculation on which character(s) the spin-off would focus. I’ve heard names of actors signed, but not an answer to that question. Is there some new official news I’ve missed?
There’s darker things going on / being setup though re: this planet not being found on star charts or any navigation systems. I mean, I’m not holding out for Severance dark, but hopefully it’s a bit deeper than Oldman Terwilliger, who famously said upon his mask being taken off his head, “I would’ve gotten away with it too if it hadn’t been for them meddlin’ kids.”

I don't think so. I poked around and found about five or six "credible" articles, and the only solid information was that Hannah W, Juno Temple, and B. Goldstein had signed on for the next season. There was a lot of very fuzzy reporting about whether Sudekis would be acting or just in an executive-producing role or some mix of that (reduced role as an actor).
The overall vibe was that Sudekis and Coach Beard had always planned for this to be a 3 season show and that is where it stood when they wrapped. But it seems clear their original intent did not factor in the show becoming a global phenomenon. Many of the actors said they'd be into doing a S4, but they also acknowledged that this was really Jason's call and they would understand if he wanted to move on.
Looks like he had a change of heart, it's just unclear to what extent.

David Schwimmer = poor man’s Jack Black?
I don’t know what show you refer to (if it’s current). But, Jack Black was always an aggressive, leaning forward kind of personality. Schwimmer always seemed kind of whiny. So, I don’t know… times change people?

Loved the book, didn’t love the 1997 movie, but if I recall it only loosely followed the book. Don’t think I ever saw the 1973 movie. Anyways, this series looks good from the trailers, and I only remember a few fragments from the book, so I think I’m looking forward to watching this.

Just started The Agency and it makes me wonder if there's a law somewhere that mandates that Michael Fassbender is only allowed to act in projects where the first descriptor is "slow-burning."
The Ciro in Bulgaria episode is among the best hours of TV I have seen in decades
This is one of the best TV shows ever.
As aforementioned, the book is also tremendous. Although the author self-imposes a lot of rules (i.e. staying in Italy) that seem to heighten the dangers to himself and his family.
I couldn't believe that he killed off Victor at the end. Cold-blooded.
Are they doing a second season? It's obviously set up for it, but I thought I read somewhere that Colin Farrell really doesn't want to go through all that make-up stuff again.

I just rewatched that episode last night with my son. Just brutal. Colin Farrell's performance is really one of the best I've seen. I'm not sure I've ever seen an actor so completely disappear into a role. Try as I might, I can barely seen any Colin in Oz.
