OFFICIAL New Jersey drone thread
All anyone wants to talk about. Second conversation today.

Re: OFFICIAL New Jersey drone thread
Drones over New Jersey is a fantastic name for a band.
Picatinny Arsenal (one of the military locations the drones were near) makes for a solid choice of a debut LP name, too.

Why is everyone making a big deal about this? I just assume Canada has a big game coming up.
Re: OFFICIAL New Jersey drone thread
I feel like the theory, about the Iranian mothership financed by China with tech the US Military hadn’t even dreamed of off the coast, from a US rep serving South Jersey is losing steam.
Local municipalities, including cops, police chiefs, say they know nothing. Local health departments warned to take full toxic precautions if one comes down in town.
So best theory heard so far that puts it altogether is that they’re some sort of detectors looking for a dirty bomb.
Is DJT staying in FL or NJ right now?

Not sure, but he did say the someone should start shooting them down. Sure, they are most likely US government drones, but the President elect is calling for shooting them down.rass wrote: Sat Dec 14, 2024 11:14 pm I feel like the theory, about the Iranian mothership financed by China with tech the US Military hadn’t even dreamed of off the coast, from a US rep serving South Jersey is losing steam.

Re: OFFICIAL New Jersey drone thread
i'm partial to the two set of drones theory.
one is the govt drones, the other are the 'real' UFOs.
or dirty bomb hunting.
or i dgaf. who has time for this? went down to the pnc light thing last night (for the price, hearing the kiddos go nuts. worth it, home in an hour). spent all time on the gsp looking up .. is that a chopper, drone or plane. geebus.

My neighborhood lost their shit 2 nights ago but we’re EWR flight path and I’m guessing it’s a specific type out hunting so I don’t really think much of it?

Between that and Palantir, what’s with these tech overlords naming everything after Lord of the Rings references? Are they like all other rich clowns that miss the point that Tolkien was against technology after serving in WWI?

I have had a lizard named after Smaug and I admit I don't know much of Tolkein's personal life outside of the broad strokes so I was not aware he was anti tech. Is an elvish blade such as Anduril not "tech"? Even if it's old?

I only learned it because I watched the extras on the extended versions. Apparently he showed his anti-tech view for tech when Sarumon was chopping down all the trees to power the Uruk-Hai factory. He saw a lot of horrors (like everyone) during the mechanized warfare of WWI, and it greatly affected his worldview.

Re: OFFICIAL New Jersey drone thread
I made it to the final round of interviews at Palantir and they have to mention LotR in every interview. It's really fucking lame and annoying. Since I had made the decision that while this was my dream job and including working out of London periodically (also a dream) I couldn't work for Peter Thiel, when the interviewer said something about needing to understand LotR to get references, I just said, "I tried to read those books and they were just so incredibly boring I gave up. I even fell asleep during the fist movie and never saw the rest." You'd of thought I put my dick in the mashed potatoes. A couple of weeks later I learned a friend's son worked at Palantir. I asked if his son was way into LotR and he just laughed and said of course.L-Jam3 wrote: Mon Dec 16, 2024 8:35 am Between that and Palantir, what’s with these tech overlords naming everything after Lord of the Rings references? I had no knowledge of this until I saw it on Fox News at the gym. I assumed this was just some rightwing nutjob thing. Probably is.
But was shocked that ALL the national morning shows did a segment on it.

Fox has been on it for a couple weeks at least now...but I'm guessing it's because Biden is still in office so therefore it's a failure of national security.

I mean, it's fucking weird. And more than a little disconcerting. I'm (obviously) not getting all ginned up by Fox News, I'm just looking at (conservatively) a couple of dozen sightings, including around/near military bases.

Re: OFFICIAL New Jersey drone thread
Langley Air Force base had a 17-day drone incursion just last October. Didn't get a lot of press (I believe), but it was brought up in the last congressional hearing on UAP in Nov. (Yes I watched it because I'm a UFO nerd, and also appreciate Rep Luna discussing hotspots and entry/exit points) Much freakier than this NJ thing, imo. There were unknown drone swarms in Colorado just a couple years ago that we never got an answers for. They'll prob just go away at some point and then we'll all move on.
Re: OFFICIAL New Jersey drone thread
99% chance they're Pentagon. If they weren't, we'd have already shot them down.

That's where I'm leaning. Doesn't take much to put these things on the ground. The other odd thing is that they are flying with their running lights on. Not exactly being stealthy there.Jerloma wrote: Tue Dec 17, 2024 12:28 am 99% chance they're Pentagon. If they weren't, we'd have already shot them down.

It could be DoD testing our ability to detect adversarial drone swarms within our airspace.

This is an updated version of crop circles with social media. Now everyone with a drone, a flashlight and a phone can get on the news. Some videos are simply airplanes lining up to land at an airport.
Re: OFFICIAL New Jersey drone thread
I don't doubt that is an addition to the 'noise', but from what I've read/heard is that these are mostly non-consumer-level craft.
The Langley AFB incursion from last October is much more curious, imho, and doesn't fit the capabilities of people fucking around with radio shack drones.

Yeah, people who have seen them in my town all describe them as the size of a small car. They seem to travel in 4s and hover very low for a while and sound like a lawnmower.P.D.X. wrote: Wed Dec 18, 2024 12:09 pm I don't doubt that is an addition to the 'noise', but from what I've read/heard is that these are mostly non-consumer-level craft.

Driving North on the Parkway Saturday night, my wife was identifying every airplane as a potential drone, driving my daughter nuts. I kept pointing out that they were all headed directly to EWR and descending in a similar pattern... One stationary "drone" caused a big fight, with my daughter yelling, "now you are pointing out stars! Of course they aren't moving!"
Last night driving my daughter home from practice, she was convinced everything was a drone and getting annoyed at me lying to myself to convince myself that everything was a plane. She said there have never been that many planes at night, but I think there always are but now we notice them more, or look closer. She is also convinced 4 large drones hovered over her field for a few minutes. She said they were low enough she could see the 4 fans on the corners and hear them. Said they hovered for around 10 minutes then took off.

That was one of my theories too. We're all EWR (and Morristown rich people one) airspace here but I imagine a lot of people don't get high on their back decks or whatever at night that often so they can be convinced anything in the sky is a drone. And when the EWR flight paths change like always, there will just be less drones. Maybe even credit Trump for that.

Re: OFFICIAL New Jersey drone thread
There is a tiny airport maybe a quarter mile from the soccer field, like two seater planes. Saw a lot of planes landing there last night. Again, usually don't even register them, accept for when they fly too low directly over the field. One or two had me nervous, like you could see the pilot's face low.mister d wrote: Wed Dec 18, 2024 1:30 pm That was one of my theories too. This is your guys version of The White Van during the sniper shootings in the DMV back in the day.
Drove around completely oblivious to the fact that these are fucking ubiquitous up until that event.
I'm almost positive that the BOLO was put out because someone said they saw a white contractor van at the Home Depot shooting. Which... Once you start clocking white contractor vans... Of course there was a white van at Home Depot!!
=-==-=-=
I just typo'd that to say Home Deport... I'm sure some MAGA person is way ahead of me on describing certain HD parking lots that way.

There's an HD in Laurel where at least a dozen (usually double that number) dudes hoping for day labor gigs. That's not all that common around here at other locations, but I'm sure YMMV for certain parts of the country.
