I think Dallas would be way more excited to get Tomlin than Pittsburgh would be to get McCarthy. And rightfully so.

FWIW that was a horrible ball by Jordan Love on that 4th and short.

Not a great game, but I think Brady has improved a ton since the start of the season.
Re: NFL Wildcard Weekend
If you listened to him, he was on top of everything. He had to work on getting the right words out, and how at times less is more, but I agree. He's improved considerably. And he never goes the fanboi route like Collinsworth or Romo.EdRomero wrote: Sun Jan 12, 2025 7:33 pm Not a great game, but I think Brady has improved a ton since the start of the season.

Agree with you guys. He’s made some huge strides. I still think Olson is better but that’s hardly an indictment of Brady. Olson is just that good and should be the top analyst.

Yeah, I don't mind Brady. I usually don't notice him which is definitely a compliment compared to the ways I notice CC, Romo, and Aikman. Agree he's gotten better throughout the season.
He's done after this year because the Raiders thing, right?

Not from what I can tell. He signed for 10 years with Fox. Pretty sure he's locked in.

Re: NFL Wildcard Weekend
Brady referred the Eagles as “The Phillies” during the game. His voice annoys the shit out of me and if this is much better than the beginning of the year, it must have been murder on opening day. I’ll take Romo over him any day of the week, Jim!

Romo sounds like he's been on an eight day bender, but Brady's voice is the one you have an issue with?cerranoredux wrote: Sun Jan 12, 2025 9:21 pm Brady referred the Eagles as “The Phillies” during the game. Re: NFL Wildcard Weekend
The Bucs managing to force a FG after a 1st and G from the 8 was huge. Driving downfield two minute offense style to tie up the game at 10 was bigger. They were almost down 11 with WAS getting the ball to start the 2nd half (and w WAS dominating TOP).

I’m pretty sure you need NFL consent for that post.

Along the lines of Trump not getting indicted for doing a coup, I'm continually amazed seeing Dan Quinn on an NFL sideline after that Super Bowl. Like, literally nothing is disqualifying anymore.

Well, as long as you’re a white guy there’s nothing disqualifying.

If McMillan was supposed to receive the handoff and the snap count was botched, then yeah, Mayfield needs to either audible out or call a timeout.

Zane Gonzalez really needed to get his hair perfect before putting on his helmet, didn't he?

Kickers are all about routine so doesn’t seem like it would be that big a deal.

I imagine he's had to figure out some guardrails so he can't be late getting out on the field. Would probably be a pretty fascinating discussion since that would go against a lot of what OCD does to you.

Probably but part of that is overperforming terrible coordinators that he keeps hiring so you can't skate by on that forever

Re: NFL Wildcard Weekend
I doubt it, Russell Wilson was available specifically because Sean Payton couldn't work with him. He just doesn't execute offenses and does what he wants. He's been this way forever and once the physical tools start to erode it's pretty much over for him. They also had some of the shittiest slow washed WRs ever assembled.mister d wrote: Sun Jan 12, 2025 1:16 pm Would a better coach have gotten more out of Russell Wilson?

Anybody else shaking their head at the horrible coincidence that Vikings/Rams was moved to State Farm Stadium tonight?

Oh my. Did not know that since I have successfully blocked out most corporate stadium names in my meaningless protest (although State Farm isn't the worst name).Johnnie wrote: Mon Jan 13, 2025 7:12 pm Anybody else shaking their head at the horrible coincidence that Vikings/Rams was moved to State Farm Stadium tonight?

I don’t even consider Ford Field a corporate name since the Ford family owns the team but I guess it is. (Yes I know the Ford logo is on the stadium.)

I mean, I get that the top dog wears it. But wasn't his main mistake letting his offensive coordinator - a much-celebrated head coach himself - keep on calling stupid plays?Jerloma wrote: Sun Jan 12, 2025 9:44 pm Along the lines of Trump not getting indicted for doing a coup, I'm continually amazed seeing Dan Quinn on an NFL sideline after that Super Bowl. Yeah. I didn't know that one either, but I'm with you. And even if they didn't own the team, it's a good name. Aligned with the city history as well.brian wrote: Mon Jan 13, 2025 8:42 pm I don’t even consider Ford Field a corporate name since the Ford family owns the team but I guess it is. I just can't stand the constant switching and terrible sounding stadium names.

Don’t let facts get in the way of a good narrative. (And yes let you said the HC wears it but there’s a lot of cooks when a team wins a SB and as many when it loses one.)garyclark wrote: Mon Jan 13, 2025 8:44 pmI mean, I get that the top dog wears it.
