Absolutely needs his block knocked off just on principle.

Like that one QB dude in college this year that did the fake slide & pull up so the defender stopped. And then he went "Psyche!," turned the jets back on, and scored.
That was Kenny Pickett and it happened in 2021
Legit thought that happened this season.

Point still stands though.

Brady reacting to stupid plays is the best. Sometime he is so incredulous that it almost renders him speechless, as if he is only now learning how stupid football people can be

Alright I'm caught up! This has been a heck of a professional postseason football game, hasn't it fellas?

Hey how come the first down line is red sometimes instead of yellow?

With this win, the NFC team that has the longest drought in the final four is… the Dallas Cowboys.

The last time my team was in the NFC Championship, I was 16 years old and the real Gary Clark was a Pro Bowler. Now my youngest son is 16. So I am obviously elated. Also, it has been decades since we have had anything resembling a real quarterback (the RGIII era came and went before we could enjoy it ... I still blame Mike Shanahan). Which, as it turns out, you kind of need in the NFL. And Jayden Daniels is one of the most likable athletes in recent memory.

I do feel bad for Lions fans. Rotten injury luck. Not only do I love the city and the franchise, but I really like the culture that Campbell has built there. Tough as nails, also supportive and inclusive. They showed that yesterday. They absolutely did not quit. With one potential exception (see below).

As for the game itself ...

1. What a treat for the neutrals. Two great teams making big play after big play.

2. Jahmyr Gibbs is absolutely terrifying. He is so, so good. There isn't a running back in football I'd rather have on my team moving forward. Bijan is the only one I can think of that is in his category.

3. Goff is a Super Bowl caliber QB when he has time. But he can be rattled when pressured. Nothing new there. Washington's pass rush was the unheralded hero of the game.

4. I absolutely did not understand the WR pass option. They just had a 1st down. At midfield. Driving. Carving up the defense. Down by 10 with what 10-12 minutes left. Why? I was shocked even as the play was unfolding.

5. I've always thought Jameson Williams was a selfish jerk, and I haven't followed enough Lions football to know if that's accurate or fair. But he sure looked that way yesterday. He's an absolute talent who loves the spotlight, but that was a dumb throw (even if he was put in a bad position), and he was clearly unhappy afterwards at being told that. At the risk of being a couch potato, it looked like he was running at 3/4 effort at best back to the line of scrimmage when the Lions were in desperation mode.

As for the coverage ...

I didn't know that was Brady for awhile. Was too focused on the game. The action was so fast and furious, and they didn't cut to the announcer shot until after both teams had scored. I thought he was great. His criticism of Goff was respectful but accurate. Most guys would have said "You have to feel bad for Jared Goff. He's been so good all season." Instead of actual analysis. I also loved his incredulity both at the Lions brilliant lateral-shovel pass from the RB: "I've never even seen that before!", and when they had 12 men on the field on defense and gifted Washington a first down inside the 5 on 4th down.

Next week ...

I'd rather face the Rams than the Eagles. Feels like the trio of Hurts-Barkley-Brown are grown-ass men on a mission. And they've seen Washington twice. And they won't let their team get caught sleeping again. But either way, I feel like we've been playing with house money since the Hail Mary against the Bears. So this is all gravy. Delicious wonderful gravy.

Be careful of what you ask for with the Rams pass rush, Stafford and his WRs, and McVay. Then again I might be overestimating them based on what they did to the Vikings (like I did with the Lion's defense of backups against the same Vikings team).

To be clear, I don't think Washington is as talented as either team. It's picking the lesser of two evils.

I didn't think they'd beat the Lions either.

I’d take that bet. The Rams have a great pass rush and good defensive backs. But they haven’t been good against the run. Cue Saquon Barkley’s music.

Any worry as an Eagles fan (for the day or longer term) that Collisworth is trying to build a narrative that the Eagles want to prove they can throw?

Choosing not to hand the ball off to a running back who hasn't been stopped all season in favor of having your QB with a gimpy knee roll out is an interesting decision
