My comment was because there's one very specific term that could have applied to Snoop/Nelly/(Ben Carson/Herman Cain) that popped into my head (and I imagine millions of others) I don't feel comfortable using. Seems synonymous there, not the n-word.

Spent the weekend with extended family and thankfully, politics was not really allowed as a topic. My oldest BIL (who is Filipino and on the tanner side, given his mom is white) is MAGA to the point that when Taylor Swift is shown on an NFL broadcast he can't stop himself from calling her all sorts of awful things.

One of his stepkids, who is also a POC, is in college getting a degree in education. She is worried about going into teaching because of all the censorship she is seeing (she lives in FL.) Yet, of course, she voted for Trump. It's mind-boggling.

These folks are the types of folks the EEO order was meant to protect. I know we talk about ppl voting against their own interests, but the stupidity and lack of awareness with Trump voters is off the charts bonkers.

I've been told by more than one Filipino that older generations are very similar to Cubans in term of inexplicably embracing Trump at a far higher than expected rate.

I can attest that one of the biggest MAGAs I know is Cubano. Possibly, it’s the residual memory of the Castro regime by their parents would push someone against the side that’s on a similar view as Communism. But these people don’t realize that communism sucked because it was authoritarian, not necessarily because it was socialist.
