So not as an exciting of a week as AB, but I have been dealing with a data breach/ransomware attack since Sunday evening. Fuckers couldn't get the ransomware to install on our servers or endpoints, so they decided they would delete all of our servers except our domain controllers. Hoping that when users would log in on Monday morning they would flip the switch and have their PCs encrypted. We nipped it in the bud pretty early on. Had to change the passwords for all of our administrator accounts. Filed claim with cyber insurance policy holder. Was at the office at 9PM Sunday until 3PM Monday. Got a couple of cat naps in under my desk before 1st shift showed up at 3AM Monday. Had to tell them to keep track of their time on a piece of paper. One more cat nap in before office staff starting coming in at 6AM. Had to tell a few of them to fuck off when they said I looked like shit. Had to tell them they would too in the same circumstances.

Monday was a blur. Calls with law firm that is handling the case. Included in the meetings was the IR Team. Those guys were like, yup, we deal with this everyday. All business. Feel like we are in good hands. Bad thing is we do work for either the DOD or Primes of the DOD. Have to file paper work with them tomorrow. As well as file something the FBI.

Even though they didn't encrypt any of our data, they did steal a bunch of it. Only asking for the value of 6 bitcoin. Was told that was around half a million. Lawyers said they would negotiate it down if we were wanting to pay. The only way we pay is if there is some DoD information or something of that nature. I think we would be fine not paying. Most of our stuff are only parts of parts of products for the big boys.

Only thing I really hope gets out to the dark web is anything from Elmo's personal space program. Although, anyone that gets that may help him keep them from exploding when they launch.

Just need to finish uploading some log files to the IR Team and then it is off to bed.

At least the CFO didn't step down.

Damn Duff, that sounds horrible. I’d be pissed if your company has to pay after you dealt with all of that.

Ransomware is no joke. My last company got hit. Refused to pay and rebuilt from ground up. Lost a lot of files.

Thankfully we have backups and all that. Looking at data stolen, we probably aren't going to pay. Some of the primes might get a bit pissy, but fuck them and their war machines.

You may already know this, but in 1v1 foosball, if you anchor your left hand on the goalie rod and move only your right hand (never letting your left hand leave the goalie rod) between the D, M, and F rods, your foos abilities increase exponentially.

It was 2v2. I was on defense, and the winning goal (5-4) was an awful dribbler.

Looks like I'm headed to Houston in May.

Giff, if you happen to be in the city and have some time on 5/15 and if my flights work out as initially submitted, I'll get you a beer. If you want.

I'm kinda surprised fajitas are a thing in Texas. Maybe I shouldn't be since they're great, but I just assumed they were for people who couldn't get/handle better options.
