This is the correct answer. Unless any of them stand up to Trump in any way, which they won’t, as that’s the reason they were given their positions. I love that Gegseth took the tact of attacking Greenberg, calling him a liar known for manufacturing fake stories long after the WH admitted it’s true.DSafetyGuy wrote: Tue Mar 25, 2025 3:50 pm No one holds their feet to the fire, so nothing is going to happen.

One thing that gets buried in the texting of war plans is that it violates the Presidential Records Act. Invasion plans are required to be discussed in a way that preserves a record. Signal isn’t preserved. I’m sure they are intentionally working to prevent a record of what they are doing.

Also, they just don’t care, syb. Laws don’t apply to them anymore. There’s no one to try and enforce them. It’s literally lawless.

I've tried to tell people that the only criteria is "does it own the libs?". They will not budge, no matter how hypocritical an act is. They will always seize on something you say, no matter how much you tone it down. If you don't call them deplorable, they'll find something else. I don't even bother.tennbengal wrote: Wed Mar 26, 2025 6:06 am Also, they just don’t care, syb. Laws don’t apply to them anymore. There’s no one to try and enforce them. It’s literally lawless.

I have never appreciated the military as much as I do. Someone has to know what they are doing and it is certainly not these guys. Id never heard of DNI. Israeli weapons replenishment? Are those guys really that reliant on us? European navies are shit? Hegseth actually mentions OPSEC... lol. Feeling like you could gain some info about decision making from reading this. I will say this, I went over to foxnews to see if they were ignoring this story and... They most definitely are not, at least on the website.
I saw a headline on CNN that Fox wasn't really talking about this much on Monday. Looks like they couldn't keep that up at this point.
The level of incompetence is unsurprising and stunning all at once. What a fucking clown show.

It's okay you guys. Tulsi just said that she misremembered when she lied under oath yesterday and Waltz says that Goldberg hacked into his phone and replaced the phone number under the contact JG with his own. Fantastic.

Re: We Doing This Shit Again? (Trump Admin Meltdown II)
Same here, not sure which is worse. I had a moment of hope, thinking that by taking on 20 of the biggest law firms in the world that they took a step too far and Big Law would smack them down, but Paul Weiss folded pretty quickly. According to an article in the NYTimes today, some rival firms started sniffing around and attempting to poach Paul Hastings partners. Particularly disturbing was Sullivan and Cromwell poaching and taking some clients with Federal cases, as their Co-Chair was just hired by Trump to represent him on his porn star hush money case appeal. Absolutely devasting to our democracy that the President is dictating what cases Big Law can take by threatening to remove their access to government security clearances and access to enter federal buildings, which includes court houses. We are so fucked!!! This is absolutely terrifying, but there is so much happening all at once, it's impossible to truly understand how awful all of this is. If we have fallen this far from Democracy in 2 months, is there any chance we have a fair election ever again? Who is going to stop an election rigging?Steve of phpBB wrote: Wed Mar 26, 2025 2:28 pmI keep going back and forth between being terrified and appalled by the arrests and threatened deportations of people for publicly opposing Israel and being terrified and appalled by Trump's executive orders targeting law firms who have displeased him personally.mister d wrote: Wed Mar 26, 2025 2:17 pm Its giving solid cover to the political kidnapping of a Tufts student.

Baghdad Barbie was in fine form yesterday when ‘confronted’ by a Fox News WHC reporter, Jacqui Henrich about why tactical strike info isn’t classified on secure channels.
Baghdad Barbs interrupted her and said, who are you going to trust? The decorated, vetted and dignified Peter Hegseth to protect our national security interests, or are you going to trust a sensationalist reporter, registered Democrat, anti-Trump Jeffrey Goldberg?
Anyway, they’re still engaged in deny & deflect. Par for the course.

I was thinking it's going to lead to some sort of violent response --someone getting approached by masked plain clothed people who responds with a gun, which gives the orange man an excuse to declare martial law or another extreme. One of the many reasons for the onlslaught of shitty actions is to instigate a negative response by their enemies which they can then exploit.Giff wrote: Thu Mar 27, 2025 8:25 amI'm talking about social media posts by you or me against our dear leaders being grounds for arrest. I just realized, if Tren ge Aragua is such a terrifyingly dangerous gang that poses a threat to our country’s existence, how was it so easy for ICE to round up thousands of them without a fight? ICE isn’t exactly equipped for a gun fight to take down a major terrorist organization.

The bigger irony is calling people antisemitic for being antigenocide.
But yeah, Israel has a government that explicitly deprives rights to people who don't subscribe to a specific religion. Anyone who respects our constitution should be anti-Israeli government. That seems like inherently American way to be.
