He lived the better part of his life in service of others and spreading words of love and acceptance, yet the last person he sees in life is JD Vance. That’s fucked up, St. Peter.

Dems should try to bait JD Vance into saying he could have killed the pope by making snide comments like "well, one thing you know for sure is that JD Vance didn't kill the pope ... dude doesn't have it in him".

The fact that he hung on long enough to call Vance and the entire administration pieces of shit gives me the smiles.

Its become a thing where he homers on big event days or at the most ridiculous times. I think the first was when Brenneman was apologizing on air and then it kept happening.

Just looked ... it has its own wiki page which is amazing: A drive into deep left field by Castellanos

Castellanos hit his first minor league home run literally within a couple of hours of when our boys were busy shooting bin Laden in the face. That’s uncanny.

I'll say it again, if you're going to claim moral authority over a billion fucking people and speak for the omnipotent creator of all time, space, and matter, you should be held to a higher standard of morality, or at least an equal standard.

If I said that homosexuals are human beings worthy of our love, while simultaneously saying they shouldn't be allowed to marry, their acts will earn them an eternity of unimaginable torture, and casually call them the f word when I'm with my friends, you'd all rightfully consider me a moral monster. But when you're the leader of a kid fucking, Nazi gold cabal that has been the root of mass oppression, poverty, ignorance, and death, your expectations are far lower. That's not only wrong but for someone with so much influence, it's also very dangerous.

Fuck you.

I grew up Catholic, but haven’t attended a mass in forever.

But I’ll go to bat for that sect vs the shit heels that went head over heels for the GOP the past 40 years.

I don't understand why you have to "go to bat" for them? Lining them up aside the GOP is false equivalent adjacent... Not quite a straw man, but still a strange juxtaposition.

Both can be horrible entities, no?

If there's a place to Rest In Peace, I hope he's there.

We're all imperfect, including Francis. But he was the best representation of what Jesus actually taught than anyone else in an influential Christian religious leadership position I'm aware of in my lifetime.

I don’t give enough of a crap to have too strong of an opinion but yeah Francis was about as good of a pope as you’re gonna get in the modern Catholic Church. If the world is lucky the cardinals elevate someone with mostly the same outlook.

Exactly. That was kind of my implied point. Compared to Francis, Saint John Paul II was Attila the Hun.

Yeah. And when you read about the earlier Popes, like hundreds of years ago, they make SJPII look like a saint.
