OK, fair enough.

I learned (or had forgotten and relearned) recently that she asked my wife's cousins in Northern Ireland the same question when she was there the summer after you visited here. I wasn't there, so not sure if she was making an inside joke that no one would appreciate or has a mall blind spot.

I suppose most of you guys already know this, but it’s worth noting that starting May 7, a regular driver’s license is no longer adequate ID to get through airport security, even for domestic flights. After that date, you’ll need either the Real ID form of driver’s license, or your passport.

And it sucks trying to get one around here. Earliest appointment I could get was 5/13 and that was six weeks ago when I made it. I have a passport so it isn’t a big deal but so many people are still going to get caught up by this even though it’s been publicized for a while.

According to the article, us in South Jersey are keeping NJ from dropping to 51.

Got mine in the Fall when they had a mobile unit in Summit giving them out. Need to get an appointment for my son. My sister said in Georgia, all drivers licenses have been Real IDs for 10 years. Smart.

Yeah that’s part of problem. I had planned on getting my license renewed back in March on my birthday, thinking it expired EOM. When I realized it actually expired on my birthday I scrambled to find a place that had appointments specifically for Real IDs and had to drive down to Flemington.

Looks like I'll be in Connecticut for work in June. I'll probably only have Sunday afternoon to do anything interesting, so any ideas?

Also, DMB is not playing Texas for the first time that I can remember since I've been going to their shows starting in '98 so it looks like the first tour I'll ever miss. They are playing in Wantagh, NY, the night I'm supposed to leave. Should I take PTO and make the drive?

I'd probably be driving back to Hartford the next day to drop rental/fly out of there. Detour to North New Jersey possible.

Get to Hartford 6/8 and either flying out or driving to NY on 6/11.

Kelli wants to go back to NYC really bad, so we may just have her fly in for the show and spend a couple days celebrating our 15th anniversary early.

I was chatting about this with co-workers and one of them mentioned a ferry from Bridgeport to Point Jefferson. Would that be worth doing if I had the time and wouldn't mind avoiding NYC traffic?

Also, would any Jersey peeps be available for lunch on 6/12. If I do this, it's only if I can fly back out of a NYC-area airport. So I'd get a late flight out of Newark if people could meet up.

Port Jefferson, I think, right? I’ve never taken that ferry or spent time on the north shore there other than one college visit to Stony Brook with the kid.

Tentatively should be available to meet in NYC.

Hey, DC/Baltimore area guys! My wife and I are going to be visiting our daughter in DC May 14-21. Hoping we could figure out a day/time I could see any of you while we are there. But our schedule is unclear so far, except I know we will be in Baltimore Saturday, 5/17 for the Orioles/Nationals game!

Yea that’s it.

I’d most likely fly out of Newark so I could actually step foot in Jersey for my first time ever.

I'd love to make something work. I work halfway between Baltimore and Washington, so a midweek gathering in either city might work.

Chuck's Trading Post for brunch (open most days so don't pick a weekend)
Lee's Pint & Shell for a good oyster/apps/drinks happy hour and outdoor space

Make a fake poster sign with The Vandoliers, American Aquarium and Wyatt Flores (With special appearance by the guitar Dave Matthews once played while shitting on a bridge) but make the address the place you want to eat. He'll come running without thinking.
